CLEMENT LAPLACE – Dale A.J. Clement, 56, a native and resident of LaPlace, diedNov. 29. He was the husband of Sandra L. Clement and father of TanyaTrosclair, Cassandra Hotard and Dale Jr. and Kristi Clement.He was also the son of the late Clarence and Mae Clement and brother of Iris Palermo, Lois, Darold and Richard Clement and the late Barbara Baker and Lloyd Clement.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services are Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation is 5 to10 p.m. today and begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
GREENBAUM DESTEHAN – Bernhard Henry Greenbaum, 51, a native of New Orleans a resident of St. Rose, died Nov. 28. He was the husband of Diann RoeGreenbaum and father of Scott, Vicki, Brandon and Amy Greenbaum.
He was also the son of the late Tilden and Mary Reil Greenbaum and brother of Mary Kinkaid, Tilden Greenbaum Jr. and the late Jack Greenbaum.He was a teacher and coach at Jesuit High School.
Services are today at noon at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.
LeBLANC DES ALLEMANDS – Lester “Bobby” LeBlanc Jr., 64, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died Nov. 25. He was the husband of Clarice Cotton LeBlancand father of Cynthia Matherne, Angela LeBlanc, the late Anthony LeBlanc and the step-father of Gerald Flannagan, Nancy Martinez and Glory LeBlanc.
He was also the son of Isa Tastet LeBlanc and the late Lester LeBlanc Sr.
and brother of Betty Savoie, Lutie Verda, Carol Alverez and Marvin and Manfred LeBlanc.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 29 at Des Allemands Mennonite Church, withinterment at the Mennonite Cemetery.
LEWIS GRETNA – Cleveland “Bay” Lewis Sr., 82, a native of LaPlace and a residentof New Orleans for most of his life, died Nov. 26. He was the husband ofMable Washington Lewis and father of Ursula Edwards, Barbara Aguillard, Elvera Hebert, Myrtle August, Cleveland Lewis Jr. and Silas Cummings.He was also the brother of Ida Mae Cook and Clifford Lewis.
He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home,Gretna, with interment at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.
MADERE LAPLACE – Edwin “Pete” Madere, 92, a native and resident of Montz, died Nov. 28. He was the husband of the late Bernice C. Madere and father ofEdwina Boudreaux, Rita Bourgeois, Donald Madere and the late Warren Madere.
He was also the brother of Myrthe Procell, Aurelia Encale, Nadge Druin, the late Louise Anna Keating, Clothide Vicknair, Lawrence Clement Jr. andAndrew Madere.
He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery, Destrehan.Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
SMOOT KENNER – Helen Keys Smoot, 58, a native of St. Rose and a resident ofKenner for 33 years, died Nov. 24. She was the wife of Clarence Smoot Jr.,mother of Toni, Leonard, David, Aaron, Jeffery and Cary Smoot and step- mother of Leonard Barise and Camile, Deidra, Cassandra, Roslyn, Tanya, Nicole and Timothy Smoot.
She was also the daughter of the late Francis and Leon Keys Sr. and sisterof Serena Joseph, Leon Jr. and Mable Keys, Shirley Stewart and WildaBrown.
She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 30 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Kenner, withinterment at Providence Memorial Park.
STEIN VACHERIE – Marguerite Webre Stein, 79, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 28. She was the wife of the late Leonce J. Stein and mother ofMary Jane Duet, Clare Hymel, Huey, Bruno, Ronald, Roland, Stephen, Edmond, Gary, Gerald, Mark, Anthony, Drew and Patrick Stein and the late Margaret, Guy and Claude Stein.
She was also the daughter of the late John C. and Uraine Webre and sisterof Mary Barre, Frances Williams, Agnes Wright, Bessie Rougee and Demase Webre.
She is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church,Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8a.m.
WILLIAMS NEW ORLEANS – Virgie Mary Williams, 69, a native of Vacherie and a resident of New Orleans for 50 years, died Nov. 23. She was the mother ofSharon McFarland and James Williams.
She was also the sister of Junior and Joseph Williams.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 29 in the chapel of Dorothy Lawless Mortuary,New Orleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
ZENO MARRERO – Albany “Moso” Zeno, 73, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Marrero for several years, died Nov. 22. He was the former husband ofRebecca Zeno and father of Reuka and Albany Zeno Jr.
He was also the son of the late George and Mathilda Lee Zeno and brother of Ruby Howard, the late Olivia Joseph, Mary Wallace, Rose Mary Smith and William, Herbert Sr. and Stanward Zeno Sr.He is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 29 at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery.
