PAULINA – Joseph J. Babin Sr., 92, a resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 20. Hewas the husband of Inez Bourgeois Babin and father of Joyce Trosclair, Betty Richard, Emilie Keller, Inez Tucker, Stanley Babin and the late Joseph Jr., Michael and Margie Babin.He was also the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Babin.He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.BARRE
NEW ORLEANS – Edna Pierre Barre, 98, a native of Edgard and resident of New Orleans, died Aug. 19. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Barre Jr.and mother of Margie White, Hazel Harris, Joseph M. Barre Jr. and the lateMyrtle Humphrey.
She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Melvina Pierre and sister of the late Bertha Walters, Adline Russel, Melvina Finney and Joseph “Joe Box” Pierre.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 23 in the chapel of Gertrude Geddes Willis FuneralHome, New Orleans, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.BRADY

She was also the daughter of Eve Arceneaux and the late Ocative Arceneaux and sister of Kenneth Arceneaux.

LULING – Herbert Clifton Gould, 65, a native of Brooksville, Fla., and aresident of Luling for nine years, died Aug. 19. He was the husband by firstmarriage of the late Edith Nagel Gould and by second marriage of Shirley Ferson Gould. He was father of Kerry, Craig and Keith Gould and step-father of Mandy Mongrue, Dawn and Wendy Dufrene.
He was also the son of the late George and Lorena Gould and brother of Nelson Gould.
He is also survived by one step-grandchild.
He was a retired assistant vice-president of Hibernia National Bank.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Luling, withinterment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. JACOB RESERVE – Marian T. Jacob, 71, a native and resident of Reserve, died Aug.22. She was the wife of the late Chester J. Jacob and mother of TamaraMcClung, Dana Caldarera and Blaine Jacob.
She was also the daughter of Charles J. and Anntoinette “Tonnette” CatoirTriche and sister of Gloria Lanier, Sherry Migues, George and Allen Triche and the late Charles “Pickle” Jr. and David Triche.She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 24 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.
JOHNSON BELLVILLE, Ill. – Elisabeth L. “Betty” Johnson, 78, a native of Elgin, Ill.,and a resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 20. She was the wife of the lateCharles H. Johnson and mother of David and Wesley Johnson.She was also the sister of Marion, Eileen, Robert and Faith Breeding and the late Richard and Frances.
She is also survived by six grandchildren and three grandchildren and was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.
She was retired from the Lutcher Post Office, a member of the St. JamesTheater Group and a member of the St. James Historical Society.Services are today at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Kurus Funeral Home,Bellville, Ill., with interment at Valhalla Cemetery, Bellville. ST. JAMES – Aline Tregpagnier, 72, a native and resident of St. James, diedAug. 17. She was the wife of the late Dennis Trepagnier and mother ofCarmen Verret, Denise Narcisse, Melette, Rita, Yvette, Illya and Dennis Trepagnier Jr. and the late Margaret Trepagnier.She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria Ricardo and sister of Adell Fernandez and Yvonne, Betty, Margaret and Joseph Ricardo.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.
She was a retired school custodian.
Services were held Aug. 21 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, withinterment at the church cemetery.
