RIVERSIDE COACHES ATTEND CLINIC – Riverside Academy head coach Mickey Roussel, accompanied by offensive coordinator John White and assistant coach Keith Childress, attended a wing-T clinic at South Arkansas University June 15-17.
South Arkansas is considered one of the best in the country at running the wing-T offense.
Following the 1997 season, Roussel analyzed the current direction of Riverside football and made a decision to convert the offense to the wing- T during the spring of 1998. The switch contributed to a trip to the Class2A state championship game and a 14-1 record last season.
The staff continued the education process, learning more about the offense it implemented just a year ago. South Arkansas, which plays onthe Division II level, demonstrated some new offensive plays, blocking assignments and how to handle certain types of defensive adjustments.
