BAIRD MARRERO – Stephen G. Baird, 68, a native of Metairie and resident of Luling,died Jan. 28. He was the husband by first marriage of the late June MorphewBaird and by second marriage of Sherryl Hubbard, father of Gwendolyn Smith, George and the late Stephen M. Baird and step-father of ChandelleJacques, Melynie Wright and Sherian Comeaux.
He was also the son of the late George and Margot B. Baird and brother ofArthur and Bruce Baird.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 31 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero,with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
DAVIS CONVENT – Melvin Davis Sr., 76, a native and resident of Convent, died Jan.27. He was the husband of Lillie Mae Davis and father of Ethel Mae White,Betty Tircuit and Mary, Rose, Prince, Ernest, Michael and Don Davis.
He was also the brother of Myrtle Sandifer, Emelda Seio, Frances Howad, Alma Hayes, Helen Simmons, Gloria Simmons, Mose Simmons and Preston Joseph.
Services were held Feb. 1 at at Jeremiah Baptist Church, Convent, withinterment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Convent.
DURHAM RACELAND – Mary L. Boyer Durham, a native of Paradis, resident of Sulphurfor 30 years and resident of Marrero, died Jan. 29. She was the wife of thelate Elmer Ray Durham and mother of Larry Durham.
She was also the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Boyer Sr. andsister of Dorothy Benoit, Oliver Jr. and Claude Boyer and the late AgnesLegendre and Wilfred Boyer.
She is also survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Services are today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland,with interment at St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery, Raceland. Visitation startsat 11 a.m.
FAVORITE VACHERIE – Almonia Warren “Mon” Favorite, 72, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Jan. 27. She was the wife of the late Justillian Favorite andmother of Clifton Favorite.
She was also the daughter of the late Alex and Emma Jones Warren.
She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
GOMEZ LAPLACE – Marie del Carmen Aguilar Gomez, 85, a native of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 28. She was the wife of the lateSantos Gomez and mother of Digna Villanueva, Carmen Acosta, Otilia Castro, Sandra Key and Leslie, Julio, Alberto and Roberto Gomez.
She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 31 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
GONDOLF0 LUTCHER – Steve Joseph Gondolfo, 90, a resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 28. Hewas the son of the late Joseph and Rosa Gondolfo, brother of Sam Gondolfo and the late Beatrice Pizzuto, Rose Palermo and Vic, Savait “Jack” and Peter Gondolfo.
Services were held Jan. 29 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Chapel, Lutcher,with interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Convent.
JACQUE PAULINA – Princess Alisha Imani Jacque, 5 months, a resident of Paulina, died Jan. 27. She was the daughter of James and Tremeka Jacque and sister ofthe late D’Juan Trevell Jones.
She was also the granddaughter of Gaston and Juanita Lee, Earnest and Linda Fleming and Frank Jacque.
She is also survived by two great-grandmothers and one great-grandfather.
Services were held Feb. 1 at Evergreen Baptist Church, Paulina, withinterment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Paulina.
LAMBERT GRAMERCY – Aubrey J. Lambert, 95, a native of Paulina and resident ofGramercy, died Jan. 29. He was the husband of the late Marie WaguespackLambert and father of Marie Ann, Joseph, Earl, Aubrey and Ronald Lambert.
He was also the brother of Felicie Mire, Ocienie Bourgeois and Lawrence Licciardi.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Hewas preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services were held Jan. 31 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, withinterment at the church mausoleum.
TAMPLAIN GARYVILLE – Huey Charles Tamplain, 71, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Garyville, died Jan. 29. He was the husband of Lois TregreTamplain and father of Eric, Keith, Perry, Dale, Mark and Bruce Tamplain.
He was also the brother of Leona Miano, Yvonne Keating, Carolyn Hahn and Thomas, Harry, David, Robert, Lionel and the late Price Tamplain.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
He was a retired construction worker.
Services were held Feb. 1 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, withinterment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Reserve.
TRAUX NEW ORLEANS – Dalton L. “Jerry” Traux Sr., 89, a native of Arabi, residentof LaPlace for 12 years and resident of Arabi, died Jan. 28. He was thehusband of the late Mildred Guirovich Traux and father of Ann Traux Tatje, Mildred DePaoli and Dalton Jr. and Michael Traux.He was also the son of the late Williams and Jessie Darsam Traux and brother of the late William F. Traux.He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Private services were held Jan. 31 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen & SonFuneral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Metairie Cemetery.
