Christine Klibert will reign over Allovus

LAPLACE – The Queen of Allovus 2000 and her maids were formally introduced Sunday at the annual Queen’s Tea.
The event was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Braud.Christine Lynn Klibert will reign as queen of Allovus at this year’s Carnival ball, set Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic High School.Allovus maids are Katie Elizabeth Arcuri, Jodi Star Gennaro, Jennifer Ann Keating and Eliska Duke.
Miss Klibert is the daughter of Richard and Suzanne Klibert. She is a graduateof St. Charles High School and a senior at Louisiana State University, whereshe is majoring in French. She is a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and theFrench Club and is an LSU ambassador.
She is a recipient of the LSU Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship and received a scholarship to study abroad in Belgium and a scholarship to study in the French Immersion Program.
After graduation, Miss Klibert plans to teach in a program set up by the French government to teach English as a second language. She later plans toreturn to school and get her master’s degree in education and French.
Miss Klibert was a member of the Larayo swim team for six years and a maid in Allovus in 1994. Her father was a boys’ baseball coach for three years,and her parents have been members of Larayo for 12 years.
Miss Arcuri, daughter of Jay and Kim Arcuri, is a sophomore at St. CharlesCatholic High School. An avid sports fan, she has been involved in softball,volleyball and track at St. Charles. She was on the 4×100 relay team thatwon district and qualified for state.
She is also a member of the PASSED program, and her hobbies include reading, sports and watching the latest movies.
After graduation she plans to attend college and pursue a career in the medical field.
At Larayo, Miss Arcuri was a member of the swim team for seven years and played softball for eight years. Her mother was a Larayo board member forthree years, in charge of the pool and swim team. Her father assisted inrunning the pool, has coached softball and umpired tee-ball. He was a Duke inAllovus in 1999.
Miss Gennaro, daughter of Dale and Cindy Tamplain, is a junior at St. CharlesCatholic. She has been on the track team for two years, in the PASSEDprogram three years and on the Student Council two years. She has been indance for 15 years and served as an assistant dance instructor two years.
She was fourth runner-up in the SCC Comet Queen pageant.
Miss Gennaro’s hobbies include dancing, swimming, shopping and spending time with family and friends. After graduation she plans to attend Holy CrossCollege to study radiology and ultrasound.
At Larayo, Miss Gennaro has played softball for seven years, cabbageball one year, been on the swim team five years, worked in concessions two years and served as a lifeguard.
Her mother has worked on the Larayo board running special projects for two years. Her father was also on the board, serving as baseball director oneyear and grounds director two years and has coached baseball five years and softball one year.
He was a Duke in Allovus in 1998.
Miss Keating is the daughter of Glen and Darlene Keating and a junior at Riverside Academy. She is involved in softball, volleyball and track atRiverside and is assistant editor of the yearbook and junior class president.
She is also a member of Mickey Roussel’s Cancer Relay for Life Team.
Miss Keating, who plans to attend the University of New Orleans and major in hotel management, lists as her hobbies playing and watching sports and visiting Disney World.
At Larayo she played cabbageball six years, softball six years and was on the swim team nine years.
Her parents have been active in Larayo for many years, with her mother serving as director of softball and head of concessions. She has also beenactive with baseball, softball and swimming. Her father is currently theLarayo vice-president and has served as secretary and baseball director as well as coaching cabbageball and softball for 10 years.
He was a Duke in Allovus in 1986, and the couple has been in the Krewe of Allovus since 1982.
Miss Duhe, daughter of Troy and Hope Duhe, is a sophomore at Destrehan High School, where she is a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the ROTC PT team.
She is also a Red Cross volunteer and a Disaster Relief Red Cross volunteer.
She has received the ROTC Curry Award and numerous softball and dancing trophies.
Her hobbies include playing most sports, camping, repelling, rock climbing and playing the piano. After graduation she hopes to attend the University ofLouisiana at Lafayette and major in art. She plans to join to Air ForceReserves and pursue a side career in photography/journalism.
At Larayo, Miss Duhe has played softball for 11 years and tennis for three years. Her father has coached baseball and softball for eight years and wasa Duke in Allovus in 1996. Her mother and father have been Allovus krewemembers six years.
