BOSSIER
GONZALES – Henry Adam Bossier, 84, a native and resident of Gramercy, died Feb.13. He was the husband of the late Gertrude Berthelot Bossier and thefather of Mary Savois and Paul Bossier.
He was also the son of the late Paul and Mary Bossier and the brother of the late Herbert, Joseph, Walter and Clifford Bossier, Eva B. Doherty and Lillian BGoudeau.
He is also survived by five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church inGramercy with entombment at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
BYRD
NORCO – Monroe Lynox “Len” Byrd, 78, a native of Brookhaven, Miss., andresident of Destrehan for 42 years, died Feb. 14. He was the husband ofIsobel May Byrd and father of Jane Southey and Ronald, Mark and Paul Byrd.
He was also the son of the late Percy and Sally Byrd and brother of Edith Pope, Helen Reeves and Roy Byrd.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Feb. 18 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander FuneralHome, Norco.
DUMAS
BATON ROUGE – Junius “Boo Yamus” Dumas, 51, native and resident of Vacherie, died Feb. 12. He was the son of Evelina Dumas and the brother ofFloyd Dumas.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater First Baptist Church in Vacheriewith interment in the church cemetery.
DUMAS
VACHERIE – Mary “Too Soon” Jones Dumas, 94, native and resident of Vacherie, died Feb. 14. She was also the mother of Louise Costly, TheresaAlexander, Dorothy Lewis, Ruth Favorite, Grace Nailor, Rose Harris, James Dumas and the late Cecile Rapp.
She was the daughter of Avelia Ash Jones and Frank Jones.
She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren and other nieces and nephews.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 9 a.m.
FOREST
LAPLACE – George W. Forest, 91, a native of Plaquemines Parish andresident of LaPlace for 56 years, died Feb. 14. He was the husband of CarrieForest and father of Edward Bell, Kenneth Brown and Carol, Jacqueline, Thomas, Raymond, Dewey and D’Artagnan Forest.
He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, LaPlace, withinterment at Providence Cemetery, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.
LIONS
METAIRIE – Bennie Alva Lions Sr., 99, a native of Reserve and resident ofMetairie for 30 years, died Feb. 13. He was the husband by first marriage ofCarlota Struber Lions and by second marriage of Alvera Wagner Lions and father of Julia Brunner and Bennie Lions Jr.
He was also the son of the late Balthazar A. and Louise Bodin Lions, step-sonof the late Julie Templet Lions and brother of Julia Baron, Agnes Brown and the late Moxie Lions.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held Feb. 17 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
McCANN
NEW ORLEANS – Iris Coffey McCann, 78, a native of Des Allemands and resident of New Orleans for 70 years, died Feb. 13. She was the mother ofSabra, Byron and Olus McCann.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Law Street Missionary Baptist Church, NewOrleans, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery. Visitation starts 9 a.m.
THERIOT
KENNER – Alfred E. “Al” Theriot, 29, a native of New Orleans, past residentof Luling and resident of Kenner for five years, died Feb. 13. He was thehusband of Amanda Ethridge Theriot and father of Blake Theriot.
He was also the son of Alfred Theriot Jr., step-son of Peggy Theriot andbrother of Margaret Regan and John and Shade Theriot.
Services were held Feb. 16 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son FuneralHome, Kenner, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
WASHINGTON
BATON ROUGE – Dianne Denise Washington, 46, a native and resident of Gramercy died Feb. 14. She was the mother of Chad Lee and the late BrentLee.
She is also the daughter of the late George Washington Sr. and LouveniaButler Washington and sister of Ester Mae Johnson, Audrey Wallace and Kenny, Ralph, Alvin and the late Larry Washington.
She is survived by two grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are today at noon at the New Zion Baptist Church in Gramercy with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation at the church starts at 10a.m.
