DENNIS VACHERIE – Irma Jones Dennis, 73, a native of Vacherie and resident of New Orleans, died June 1. She was the wife of the late Wilfred Dennis Sr., motherof Dwan Haydel and Wilfred Jr. and Craig Dennis and stepmother of RonaldBernard.

She was also the daughter of the late Octave and Madline Jones and sister of Beulah St. Junior and Marian Oubre.She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services were June 6 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Vacherie.

MADERE DESTREHAN – Rena Kinler Madere, 103, a native and resident of Luling, died June 2. She was the wife of the late Emile Madere Sr. and mother of LeonaWalker, Harold, Fred, Emile Jr. and Peter Madere and the late Evelyn Hart andRobert and Edward Madere.

She was also the daughter of the late Alfred and Madeleine Kinler and sister of the late Adele Champagne, Edna Freeman, Emma Mongrue, Lena Elliot and Idey and Cecile Kinler. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were June 5 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling, withinterment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.

MURRAYMANGHAM – Odis Ray “Johnny” Murray, 56, a native and resident of St. Rose,died May 31. He was the father of Tommy Murray and Barbara Powers.He was also the brother of Annie Martin and Tom Murray. He is also survivedby two grandchildren.

Services were June 3 at Calvary Baptist Church, Mangham, with interment at Hewitt Cemetery, Mangham.

NOTOMETAIRIE – Walter “Buster” Louis Noto, 85, a native of St. Rose and residentof Metairie and New Orleans, died May 31.

He was the father of Antoinette Bertrand and Victor Noto.

He was also the brother of Virginia Canale, Marie McDonnell, Frances Lelie and Louis and Salvador Noto. He is also survived by five grandchildren and fourgreat-grandchildren.

Services were June 3 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

SCHESSERMARRERO – Walter B. Schesser Sr., 76, a native of Kansas, former residentof Metairie and resident of Luling, died May 29. He was the father of AnnetteFalgout, Dottie D’Aunoy, Barbara Bourgeois, Kathy Guidry, Debbie Cestaro, Charlotte Silcio and Walter Jr. and Steve Schesser. He was also the son of the late John and Helen Schesser and brother of James and Leonard Schesser and the late Evelyn Orr and John and Donald Schesser. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one great-grandchild.Services were June 6 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie.

SERGENTLULING – Ralph Edwin Sergent, 76, a native of Walton, W. Va. and resident ofLuling, died June 1. He was the husband of Isla Sergent and father of BrendaHickman and David Sergent.

He was also the brother of Robert Sergent.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Date of memorial services will be announced at First Baptist Church of Luling. Interment was June 6 at Elk Hills Memorial Park in W. Va.
