St. John needs to practice its own words

DEAR EDITOR: I recently read an article in a local newspaper quoting St. John’s EconomicDevelopment Director Julia Remondet as saying she wants to “advertise St. John Parish as a great place to live and do business.” The very next lineof the article reads: “Zermatt, a Luling company, designed the new logo for $2,400.”Now, I’m not a geography expert, but the last time I checked, Luling was in St. Charles Parish. St. John Parish keeps preaching, “Shop St. John,” overand over, but the truth is that St. John does not shop St. John.
