St. Charles hosting Super 10 tournament

LULING – The St. Charles Department of Parks and Recreation is playinghost to the 12th annual Super 10 State Tournament of Champions this week at the West Bank Bridge Park.

The eight-team, double elimination tournament will run today through Thursday.

Mamou, the District 7 champion, opens the tournament today at 1 p.m.against District 4 champion Bossier. District 6 champion Gonzales-American plays Morgan City, the District 3 West champions, at 3 p.m.Alexandria, the champions of District 8, goes against District 5 champion West Monroe-North at 5:30 p.m. Host St. Charles will play the District 3East champions, also from St. Charles, at 8 p.m.In tomorrow’s action, the losers between the two St. Charles teams andMamou-Bossier City play an elimination game at 1 p.m. The secondelimination game between the losers of Gonzales-American and Morgan City and Alexandria and West Monroe-North play at 3 p.m. In the winners’bracket, the winners of the St. Charles teams and Mamou-Bossier City playat 5:30 p.m., followed by the winners of Gonzales-American and MorganCity and Alexandria and West Monroe-North at 8:30 p.m.The winner between those two matchups will play in the winners’ bracket game Monday at 8 p.m. Elimination games will be played at 3:30 and 5:30p.m. Tuesday’s matchups feature the winner of that game versus thesurvivor out of the losers’ bracket at 8 p.m. and an elimination game at5:30 p.m. Wednesday’s championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. If both teams haveone loss after that game, a second championship game will be played Thursday at 7 p.m.
