FLUENCE

CONVENT – Leola Davis Fluence, 87, native of Lutcher and resident of Garyville, died Oct. 27. She was the mother of Leola Lee, Ellen Green,Eunice Anthony, Ora Lee Tyler, Leroy Davis and James, Gary, John, Thomas, Larry and Nathan Fluence.

She is also survived by 55 grandchildren, 104 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater King Triumph Baptist Church,Lutcher with internment at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery,Convent.

LEBLANC

NEW ORLEANS – Rowena “Mackie” LeBlanc, 82, native of Convent and resident of New Orleans for the past 50 years, died Oct. 27. She was themother of Frank and Edwin LeBlanc and the stepmother of Loretta Petit.

She is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 9 a.m. at Greater Little Rock Baptist Church, NewOrleans, with interment at Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery, Convent.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m.

NICHOLAS

LAPLACE – Martinell Nicholas, 80, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace for the past 15 years, died Oct. 29. He was the brother ofHarold West.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services are today at 11:30 a.m. at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel BaptistChurch, New Orleans, with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans.Visitation begins at 10 a.m.

RAY

METAIRIE – David Ray Sr., 40, a native of Summitt, Miss., and a resident ofReserve for the past 15 years, died Oct. 28. He was the husband ofElizabeth Ray and the father of Xavier, Jason, David Jr. and Shirah Ray.He was also the son of the late Henry and Della Ray and brother of Rosemary Franklin, Martha Ned, Louise Porter and Willie, Judge, Henry, Vernon, Mazine and Dora Ray.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were Nov. 2 at Ninevah Baptist Church, Metairie, with internmentat Lake Lawn Mausoleum, Metairie.

TAYLOR

COVINGTON – Mildred Miller Tayor, 95, a native of New Orleans and resident of Vacherie for the past 35 years, died Nov. 2. She was the wifeof the late Joseph Taylor.

She was also the sister of Lloyd Miller and the late Henry, Bertrand, Laura and Frances Miller.

Services are today at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel of Schoen Funeral Home,Covington, with interment at Pinecrest Memorial Garden, Covington.

Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m.
