BOUTTE – With East St. John’s victory at Destrehan Friday night, Hahnvillemoved into the driver’s seat in the District 7-5A title race.

The Tigers will look to stay out front when they host South Terrebonne Friday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.Hahnville improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in district play with a 26-11 win at Central Lafourche Friday. Skyler Boyle ran 25 times for 146 yards and atouchdown. Dawan Landry passed for 62 yards and a touchdown and alsoscored on a 19-yard run. Hahnville ran up 324 yards in offense with 262 of itcoming on the ground. The Tigers limited the Trojans to 189 yards andforced two turnovers.

Central Lafourche got on the scoreboard first with a 30-yard field goal by Nick Guidroz in the first quarter. Hahnville came back in the second quarterwith a 9-yard touchdown run by Boyle. A 30-yard touchdown pass fromLandry to Mark Young made it 12-3 at the half.

Landry increased the lead to 19-3 in the third quarter with a 19-yard scamper. Central Lafourche cut the deficit to 19-11 on a 14-yard pass fromT.J. Vedros to Shane Eschete. But Hahnville answered with a 3-yard run byCharles Taylor in the fourth quarter.

The victory completed a 4-0 road trip for the Tigers. Hahnville returns homethis week for the first time since the first week of the season.

Boyle continues to rank among the leaders in the area in rushing with 70 carries for 468 yards and seven touchdowns. Landry has passed for 422yards and five touchdowns and has scored seven touchdowns this season.

Hahnville will be going up against a South Terrebonne team coming off a 32-0 loss to South Lafourche in District 7-5A play Friday night. The loss droppedthe Gators to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in district play.

South Terrebonne was held to 92 total yards in the contest, 51 coming through the air. The defense allowed 248 yards rushing to the Tarpons and375 yards in total offense.

The Gators had scored 95 points in the first four games with their wing-T attack. That attack, with six returning starters, is led by quarterback ChrisUnderwood and running back Tyler Herbert. The 4-3 defense returns fivestarters, including end Mark Stevenson and linebackers Jonathan Vincent and Robbie Robichaux.

Last year, Hahnville rallied in the final two minutes to pull out a 22-15 at South Terrebonne. Darryl Honor led the way with 202 yards and threetouchdowns on the ground. The defense held the Gators to 241 yards andforced five turnovers.

Hahnville hosts South Lafourche next Friday in a key District 7-5A matchup.
