3 Garyville youths charged with armed robbery, burglary

GARYVILLE – Three Garyville juveniles are under arrest and charged with aggravated burglary. Two are also charged with armed robbery.On Sept. 28 around 3 p.m. a 12-year-old boy was leaving the GaryvilleNorthern Store with groceries when he was approached by two boys on a red bike. One of the youths pulled out a shotgun, pointed it at the 12-year-oldand demanded money. The victim handed over $5, and the two robbers tookoff on the bike toward Historic Main Street.
About an hour later St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s deputies got a call from aCheri Miano of Historic West Street about a break-in at her house.
According to Miano, two young boys walked up to her front porch armed with an unknown weapon. She told the deputies she saw the stock of a long gunbeing carried by one of the boys.
She and her two children jumped out the front window and went to a relative’s house where she called police. When Miano returned to her house,she discovered her purse was missing.
Capt. Mike Tregre, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said while the burglaryand robbery were under investigation detectives got a tip about one of the suspects. After more investigation, the suspect was brought in and underfurther questioning, implicated the other two juveniles.
