River Parishes hospital names 2 new directors

LAPLACE – River Parishes Hospital has recently named two new directors: Cherrie Broekhoven, director of practice management, and Claudia “Coco” Hendricks, MT(ASCP), director of the laboratory.
Broekhoven has been employed by the hospital for two years, previously serving as practice manager. In her new role she will be responsible for managing day-to-dayoperations of the hospital’s four primary care clinics as well as the Occupational Medicine Center.
Prior to her employment at River Parishes Hospital, Broekhoven served as coordinator for the Residency Program at the Tulane University School of Medicine Department of Surgery and office manager for a six-member cardiovascular surgery physician group.
She is a magna cum laude graduate from the Tulane University College in which she received an associate degree in business management. She is currently workingtowards a bachelor’s degree.
“I am excited about furthering my career here at River Parishes Hospital,” said Broekhoven. “I have undertaken many endeavors over the past two years and lookforward to facing new challenges that await me in my new position.”A native of Baton Rouge, Broekhoven currently resides in LaPlace with her husband, Wayne, and their two daughters, Bethany and Sarah.
Hendricks most recently served as senior medical technologist at Tulane Hospital and Clinics and as laboratory manager at The Blood Center in New Orleans. She hasover 16 year of experience as a medical technologist and over 11 years as a laboratory manager. Also, she is currently a member of the American Society forQuality.
“I am looking forward to working with a staff who has the same philosophy of care as I do – professionals who truly believe in a team approach to health care,” said Hendricks. “Working at River Parishes Hospital will give me the opportunity to workin laboratory that I can develop and expand to become a major part of providing the quality of patient care that RPH is known for.”She is native of Beirut, Lebanon, and lived for many years in France. Hendrickscurrently resides in Slidell with her husband, James, and their five children.
