CATOIRE
RESERVE – Elma Bourgeois Catoire, 98, a native of Paulina and resident of Reserve for 76 years, died Sept. 10. She was the wife of the late Guy J.Catoire and mother of Elaine Miano, Miriam Bannon, Dorrel Catoire and the late Ray and Clyde Catoire Sr.
She was also the daughter of the late Prudent and Florestine Brignac Bourgeois and sister of the late Elvire Loupe, Elvina Kliebert, Elmire Gaudet and Gaston, Leston, Victor and Clovis Bourgeois.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
DAVIS
HAHNVILLE – Blanchard Leonard Davis Sr., 68, a native and resident ofHahnville, died Sept. 10. He was the husband of Gladys Darensbourg Davis andfather of Gaynell Alexander and Glenn, Gary, Dwight and Blanchard Davis Jr.
He was also the son of the late Rev. Sidney Jr. and Leona Byrd Davis andbrother of Beatrice, Lloyd “Quincy,” Floyd and the late Sidney Jr., Mabel andMarie Davis.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary CatholicChurch, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.
FRANCOIS
EDGARD – Dorothy “Dot” Pierce Francois, 75, a native and resident of Edgard, died Sept. 7. She was the wife of George Francois Sr. and mother ofLeona Bailey, Moyna Numa and Franchester, Herman, Nathaniel, Charles, Roland, Bobby, Reginald and George Francois Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Augustus and Leonie Fiffie Pierce and sister of Coretha Farnell.
She is also survived by 46 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren. She waspreceded in death by one grandchild.
Services were Sept. 11 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, withinterment at the church cemetery.
JONES
LAPLACE – Shirley Jones, 69, a native of Lutcher and resident of LaPlace, died Sept. 7. She was the wife of the late Felix Jones Jr. and mother ofBrenda Albert and Nathaniel, Sandra, Anthony, Cynthia and Veronica Jones.
She was also the daughter of the late Oscar Weber Sr. and Ruby Walker andsister of Myrtle Weston and Willie Mae, Daniel, James, Clarence and Wilbert Weber.
She was preceded in death by four children, two brothers and one sister.
She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 12 at Providence Baptist Church, LaPlace, withinterment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.
MORALES
NORCO – Eunice H. Morales, 85, a native of Garyville, resident of Destrehanfor 25 years and resident of Norco for 37 years, died Sept. 8. She was thewife of the late Alvin J. Morales Sr. and mother of Claudette Robicheaux andAlvin “Bobby” and the late John Morales.
She was also the daughter of the late Edward and Claudia M. Haydel andsister of Gertrude “Cotton” Naquin and the late Bertha Guidry and Edward Haydel.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 11 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco,with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.
STEWART
LAPLACE – James “Fox” Stewart, 62, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace for 25 years, died Sept. 4. He was the husband of Emelda J. Stewart,father of Imogene Foucha and Barbara, Leola, Rayshawn, Clyde, Shenita and the late Lionel Stewart and stepfather of Bonnie Cotton, Lois Short, Veronica Anderson, Cabrini James, Wanda Woodrick and Kevin Sanders.
He was also the son of Jackson Stewart and Elnora Carter and brother of Henry, Junius and Billy Carter and Sam, David and Joseph Thomas.
He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 11 at Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church,LaPlace, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
TREGRE
RESERVE – Garland Edgar “Gully” Tregre, 89, a native of Lions and resident of St. John the Baptist Parish, died Sept. 10. He was the husband of the lateRuby Gautreaux Tregre and father of Jo Ann Duhe and Dianne Fabre.
He was also the son of the late Henry and Julie Lions Tregre, brother of the late Elmire Simoneaux, Thelma Menuet and Marcy, Kido, Roy and Buster Tregre and step-brother of Bill Lasseigne and the late Eunice Perilloux and Howard and Nicholas Lasseigne.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 12 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment in the church cemetery.
VICKNAIR
LAPLACE – Mollie Hebert Vicknair, 63, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for 63 years, died Sept. 8. She was the wife of James A. “Tim”Vicknair Sr. and mother of Catherine Cazes, Nancy Kidwell, Katy Duhe andDaniel, James Jr., Steven and Karl Vicknair.She was also the daughter of Rubie Tabb Hebert and the late August Hebert and sister of Gloria Massi, Odile Bruno, Thelma Durham and Vincent, August and Felix Hebert.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 11 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
WHORTON
KENNER – Frank Leon Whorton Jr., 55, a native of Pryor, Okla., and residentof Destrehan for nine years, died Sept. 10. He was the husband of KathyCordilla Whorton and father of Joseph and Jeffery Whorton.
He was also the son of the late Frank and Hazel Whorton and brother of Darlene Drake and Pamela Springer.
Services were Sept. 12 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home,Kenner, with interment at St. John Memorial Cemetery, LaPlace.
