All-River Parishes softball coach of the year E.J. Tassin of Hahnville High School took his team to a 20-6-1 record and a 12-0 record in district play during 2001’s season. Most impressive was his team’s 18-game winning streak. “We had a great year,” Tassin noted. “It was a really good year for having only three girls return.”

All-River Parishes softball most valuable player Summer Delaneuville led Riverside Academy’s team from the pitcher’s mound this season. The junior pitched 168 innings and struck out 227 batters. Her overall earned runs average was an untouchable .069.
