CLEMENT

LAPLACE – Chester J. Clement, 84, a native of Lions and resident of LaPlace, died April 15. He was the husband of Ruby Delaneuville Clement and father of Sherran Frichter, Linda Gaudin, Jane Ollar, Kitty Gomez and Chesley Cashio.He was also the son of the late Sidney Sr. and Eva Montz Clement, and brother of Margie Guidry, Alden Clement, and the late Sidney Clement Jr.He is also survived by nine grandchildren.He was a charter member of LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department.Services were held April 17 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.COWANS
METAIRIE – Donald “Gene” Cowans Sr., 62, a native of Kenner and resident of St. Rose, died April 14. He was the husband of Beatrice Reiser Cowans and father of Wendy Fasullo, Gwen, Lance and Donald Cowans Jr.He was also the son of the late Clifton and Irene Fulton Cowans, and brother of Doris Carter, Patricia McCall, Maryann Walsh, Clifton, Roy, Jerry, and the late James and Richard Cowans.He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Services are today at noon in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at St. Vincent de Paul No. 3 Cemetery. BATON ROUGE – Arthur LeBeouf, 84, a native of Welcome and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 10. He was the husband of Jessie Mae LeBeouf and father of Etta Young, Myrtle Lathan, Billie Jean Edward, Cherry Edwards, Diane, Arthur, Shelvie and Larry LeBeouf, and the late George LeBeouf.He was also the son of the late Rose LeBeouf.He is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by three grandchildren.He was a U.S. Army veteran.Services were held April 15 in the chapel of Winnfield Funeral Home, with interment at Port Hudson National Cemetery.VICKNAIR
BATON ROUGE – Rene Martin Vicknair, 89, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 15. He was the husband of the late Lois Tate Vicknair, and father of Eugenie Gluth, Lila Glankler, Carole Cordes and Rene Vicknair Jr.He was also the son of the late George and Josephine Decareaux Vicknair, and brother of Theresa DeSoto, and the late Oneida ORoarke, Stella Engolio, Clara, Lily and Lillian Vicknair.He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.He was a retired employee of Copolymer Companies in Baton Rouge.Services were held April 17 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park.WADE
LULING – Niki Kay Nelson Wade, 53, a native of Houston, resident of Luling for 18 years and resident of Amman, Jordan for the past three years, died April 7. She was the wife of Stephen Wade and mother of Ebony, Gamini and Yael Wade.She was also the daughter of Paul and Dorothy Nelson and sister of Mike Nelson.She was a 1965 graduate of Hahnville High School, and also of the University of Pittsburgh and Ateneo de Manila University in The Philippines. She was a former nurses aide at St. Charles Parish Hospital and a nuclear medicine technician at Memorial Hospital in Houston and Arlington Hospital in Virginia.In 1973, she joined the Peace Corps and taught school in Bostwana, Africa.Memorial services were held April 16 at Bible Center Church, Luling.
