LUTCHER – Baby DAngelo Batiste and Natalie “Corney” Batiste, 27, a native of St. James and resident of New Orleans, died March 30. She was the daughter of Gelinda Johnson and Warren Batiste and stepdaughter of Alonzo Johnson; she was the daughter of fiancee Sean Parker.She was the sister of Nicole Harris and Alexander and Travis Batiste and stepsister of Unita Green.She was also the granddaughter of Jessie Mae Wigley and the late Gilbertine and Joseph Dillon and Mary and Robert Batiste.Services were April 3 at Israelite Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at C.F.B.A. Cemetery, Paulina.CARAWAY
BATON ROUGE – Anne Amedee Caraway, 87, a native of Vacherie and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 1. She was the wife of 61 years of Earl Caraway and mother of Sandra James and Kay McNemar.She was also the sister of Helen Hopkins and Bea Giuliante and was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Services were April 3 in the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, with interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park.DESLATTE
PAULINA – Keni Lynne Deslatte, 22, a native of Lutcher and resident of Paulina, died April 1. She was the daughter of Kelly Matherne and the late Kenneth “Guppy” Deslatte, stepdaughter of Louis Deroche and sister of Kimberly Deroche.jhe was also the granddaughter of Rita Deslatte, Hubert and Lorraine Matherne and the late Andy Deslatte.She was a student at Ascension Vo-Tech and a cashier floor manager at Mathernes Supermarket.Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. RESERVE – Cornelious P. Francois III, 49, a native and resident of Reserve, died March 23. He was the father of Chenelle Arceneaux.He was also the son of Aldonia W. Francois and the late Cornelious Francois Jr. and is also survived by four sisters and eight brothers.He is also survived by two grandchildren.Services were March 31 at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, Reserve, with interment at Montz Memorial Cemetery, Montz.PARRINO
PAULINA – Sherri Lynn Parrino, 19, a resident of Grand Point, died April 1. She was the daughter of Felix and Rita Faye Roussel Parrino and sister of Brad Parrino.She was also the granddaughter of Anna Mae Parrino, Lucy Duhe and the late Felix Parrino Sr. and Clifford Roussel.She was a student of Southeastern Louisiana University and a part-time employee of Mathernes Supermarket.Services were April 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.RUIZ
RESERVE – Elmo “La Sauce” Armand Ruiz, 95, a native of Barton and resident of Reserve for 82 years, died April 2. He was the husband of the late Lavinia Cortez Ruiz and father of Rosemary Deslatte, Fay Richard, Junior Ruiz and the late Clarence “Hickey” Ruiz.He was also the son of the late Frank and Angelina Ruiz and brother of Bertha Duhon.He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.Services are today at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery. EDGARD – Leopold J. St. Pierre Sr., 91, a native and resident of Edgard, died March 31. He was the husband of Marjorie Hymel St. Pierre and father of L.J. St. Pierre Jr.He was also the son of the late Maurice and Elodie Berthelot St. Pierre and brother of Wesley, Jean Baptiste, George St. Pierre and the late Cecil Hattier, Josephine Galloway, Melba Messina and Albin, Rose, Roger, Maurice Jr., Dennis, Richard and Edmond St. Pierre.He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
