BOUTTE – Hahnville took over sole possession of first place in District 7-5A with a 79-55 victory over Thibodaux Friday night.
Hahnville improved to 24-5 overall and 7-1 in district. Thibodaux, which had defeated Hahnville at home earlier in the season, fell to 7-2 in district and 21-8 overall.
Dawan Landry led the way for the Tigers with 21 points. Aaron Alexander contributed 13 points. Nick Cannon with 11 and Corey Woods with 10 also broke into double figures.
Hahnville trailed 18-15 at the end of the first quarter but rallied to take a 36-29 lead at halftime.

Destrehan 80, South Terrebonne 31

BOURG – Destrehan moved into a tie for second place in District 7-5A with an 80-31 victory at South Terrebonne Friday night.
Destrehan moved to 17-11 overall and 7-2 in the district, tying Thibodaux. The Wildcats played at first place Hahnville Tuesday night.
South Terrebonne fell to 2-24 overall and 0-10 in district play.
Destrehan broke out to a 23-6 first quarter lead and led 42-13 at the half.
Mark Stewart led Destrehan with 19 points. Jazsmine Eugene and Lionel Turner had 12 points apiece while Lionel Vasquez had 11.

Lutcher 72, St. Charles Catholic 65

LUTCHER – Lutcher held off a second quarter rally by St. Charles Catholic, defeating the Comets, 72-65, in District 9-3A play Friday night.
Lutcher remained in second place in the district with a 4-1 record while moving to 19-11 overall. St. Charles Catholic fell to 21-9 overall and 2-3 in district.
Lutcher led 39-30 at the break before the Comets pulled to within 49-44. But the Bulldogs came back to extend the lead back to 68-54 late in the fourth quarter.
Donnie Francois had a game-high 23 points for the Bulldogs. Chris Johnson contributed 19 points and Courtney Long 10.
St. Charles Catholic was led by Mike Mustian with 18 points. Michael Bonura tossed in another 15 points. Alton Alexander had 12 points and Daress Nicholas 11.

Riverside 65, Fisher 44

FISHER – Riverside rallied from a 16-9 first quarter deficit to gain a 65-44 District 9-2A victory at Fisher Friday night.
The Rebels, who played West St. John Tuesday, moved to 6-3 in the district and 15-11 overall. Fisher fell to 6-14 overall and 2-7 in district.
Riverside out-scored the Gators 17-6 in the second quarter to take a 26-22 lead at the half, then broke the game open with an 18-4 run during the third quarter.
Michael Schoen had a game-high 18 points for the Rebels. Craig Tearney chipped in with 14 and Scottey Manson with 11.
