CORRAO

NEW ORLEANS – Raymond J. Corrao, 60, a native of Milwaukee and a longtime resident of the New Orleans area died July 26. He was the husband of Jacqueline B. Corrao and the father of David J. Corrao and Kimberly A. Corrao. He was the son of Lena F. Corrao and the brother of Anthony J. Corrao and Frances C. Bieganowski. He was a former St. Charles Parish reserve sheriffs deputy, a retired bearings specialist at Dixie Bearings and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Kenner Lions Club. Services were July 30 at 11 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans. Interment was in Lake Lawn Mausoleum.

DUPUY

PAULINA – Russell J. “Khaki” Dupuy, 81, a native of Paulina and a resident of Lutcher died July 29. He was the husband of Zula S. Dupuy and the father of Gwendolyn Rizzuto of Grand Point, Lynette Hidalgo of Paulina, Mary Chambless of St. Amant, James Dupuy and Timothy Dupuy, both of Birmingham, Ala., and Patrick Dupuy and Patricia Dupuy, both of Lutcher. He was the son of the late Samuel Dupuy Sr. and Azema R. Dupuy and the brother of Emily Bonnette of Baton Rouge and Alice M. Dupuy of Norco. He was the grandfather of 13 grandchildren and the great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren. He was a retired employee of Shell Oil Co. in Norco and a member of VFW Post No. 5852 and Company I, 302nd Infantry, 94th Division. Services will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Interment will be in the church mausoleum under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Louisiana, 8382 One Calais Ave., Baton Rouge, LA 70809 or Cancer Services of St. James Parish, 1899 George St., Lutcher, LA 70071.

FONTENOT

BATON ROUGE – Glenna Mae Fontenot, 77, a native of Opelousas and a resident of Baton Rouge died July 28. She was the wife of the late Easten “Sarge” Fontenot and the mother of Glenn A. Fontenot and the late Joe Fontenot. She was the sister of Earl Nezat of LaPlace, Gene Nezat of Jacksonville, Fla., Pat Nezat of Mobile, Ala., and the late Arsan Nezat, Ethel Pennington, Connie Palermo and Letha Johnston and the grandmother of two grandchildren. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. Services were July 31 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Interment was in Port Hudson National Cemetery under the direction of Greenoaks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimers Association, Southwest Louisiana Chapter, 2041 Silverside Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.

LAMBERT

CONVENT – Lawrence Charles Lambert, 84, a native and resident of Convent died July 27. He was the husband of Delia Melancon Lambert and the father of Roy Lambert of Lutcher, Kevin Lambert of Paulina, Lois Deslattes of Gramercy, Ruth Walker of Shreveport and Ann Marchal of Gonzales. He was the son of the late Laurent and Martha D. Lambert and the brother of Adeline L. Poche and Rita L. Roussel, both of Convent, and the late Malcolm, Romain, Juste, Eusebe, Gaston, Willis and Freddie Lambert. He is survived by 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a farmer, a retired St. James Parish sheriffs deputy, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post No. 5852. Services were July 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Convent. Interment was in the church mausoleum under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher.

ORDENEAUX

GONZALES – Allen Joseph Ordeneaux Jr., 59, a resident of Gretna died July 18. He was the the father of Darlene, Dale, Allen III and Terry Ordeneaux, all of Gramercy and the son of Dorothy Spizale of Gramercy and the late Allen J. Ordeneaux Sr. He was the brother of Robert Ordeneaux and Geri Triche, both of Lutcher and the grandfather of 10 grandchildren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a welder at Avondale Shipyard.

SORAPURU

NEW ORLEANS – Daniel Sorapuru, 46, a resident of St. Rose and a longtime resident of New Orleans died July 24. He was the father of Nicole Smith, Elizabeth Butler and Danelle, Keirston and Jena Sorapuru and the son of Joseph Sorapuru Sr. and Bernice Sorapuru. He was the brother of Carolyn Green, Debra Carriere, Sharon Cornilus and Anthony, Michael and Joseph Sorapuru Jr. and the grandfather of 12 grandchildren. He was a carpenter with Hithe Construction Co. and he attended George Washington Carver High School. Services were July 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church in New Orleans. Interment was in Holt Cemetery in Metairie under the direction of Bardells Mortuary.
