Paxton has secured a golf scholarship following two successful years of playing for Copiah Lincoln Junior College in Brookhaven, Miss. He attended Lutheran High School in Metairie, where he played soccer. Because Lutheran did not have a golf team, Paxton was unable to play varsity golf. But in his senior year Paxton competed in the Regional and State Tournaments, tieing for 10th in state. As a freshman at Copiah Lincoln Junior College, Paxton participated in the Division III nationals held in New York. He finished in the top 15, securing himself All American Status. As a sophomore, Paxton helped Copiah Lincoln win the Junior College State Championship in Mississippi. Steven Lee, Paxton’s father, said his son had been playing golf since an early age. “He followed me around (the course) when he was four years old,” Steven Lee said. “Belhaven College not only provides an excellent opportunity to play competitive collegiate golf, more importantly it is an outstanding academic college. It is an opportunity for Paxton to play at the next level,” his proud dad concluded.
