NEW ORLEANS – Henry Billups Jr., 78, a native of Des Allemands and resident of New Orleans for 25 years, died July 15. He was the husband of the late Alberta Billups.He was the son of the late Henry Sr. and Anna Billups and brother of the late Evelyn Wingard.Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park. LAPLACE – Patrick M. Burns, 62, a native of Chicago and resident of LaPlace for 27 years, died July 16. He was the husband of Bobby Burns and father of Jackie Potter, Debbie Heltz, William York, Janet Lopez, Ricky, Robert and Darren Burns and the late Ray York.He was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor Mulvaney and brother of Jackie Surface.He is survived by 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. GARYVILLE – Beatrice C. Dores, 101, a native of Edgard and resident of Garyville, died July 16. She was the wife of the late Louis Dores and mother of Joseph Dores Sr. and the late John Dores.She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Carmelite Cambre.She is survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Services were July 19 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at St. Philip Catholic Cemetery, Vacherie.HUGUET
PAULINA – Eliza Bourgeois Huguet, 91, a native of Convent, former resident of Convent and resident of Lutcher, died July 17. She was the wife of the late Gurner Huguet.She was the daughter of the late Jules Sr. and Anna Louque Bourgeois and sister of Lena Fourcade, Nola Ecuyer, Myrtis Folse, Murphy Bourgeois Sr. and the late Yvonne Colon, Bertha Robert and Sollend, Lynn, Callie, Nester, Nolan and Jules Bourgeois Jr.Services were July 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.JOHNSON
ST. ROSE – Fred “Freddie” Johnson Jr., 85, a native of Luling and resident of St. Rose for 20 years, died July 15. He was the husband of the late Josephine C. Johnson and father of Ardist Moses, Mary LaBlanc, Yolanda Roberson and Alvin, Albert, Joseph and Arthur Johnson.He was the son of the late Fred Sr. and Estelle Johnson and brother of Dorothy Harris, Estelle Lewis, Lorita Jenkins, Virginia Bujal and Charlie, Anthony, Claude and Joseph Johnson.He is survived by 28 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.Services were July 20 at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.KARLING
MARRERO – Clifford Robert Karling, 53, a native of Milwaukee and resident of Luling for 11 years, died July 15. He was the husband of Janette Peek Karling and father of Julie, Robert and Clifford Karling.He was the son of Laverne Verduin Karling and the late Robert Karling and brother of Bonnie Cline and Shirlee Holmberg.He is survived by two grandchildren.Services were July 19 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Eagle Creek Cemetery, Longview, Texas.WILLIAMS
LUTCHER – Beverly Storks Williams, 58, a native and resident of Lutcher, died July 16. She was the wife of the late Eddie Williams and mother of Nila Lewis and Marla and Roderick Storks.She was the daughter of Doretha Johnson Storks and the late Wilbert Storks and sister of Jocelyn Johnson and Laura, the Rev. Terry and the late Norman Storks Sr.She is survived by 13 grandchildren.Services were July 20 at King David Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher.
