RIVER RIDGE – Daniel Richard Chivis Jr., 56, a native of Milford, Texas, and resident of LaPlace for 14 years, died July 8. VACHERIE – Valerie Marie Weber Hymel, 91, a native and resident of Vacherie, died July 15. She was the wife of the late Francis J. “Frank” Hymel Sr. and mother of Francis Jr., Gerard, Allen and Nolan Hymel.She was the daughter of the late Remie and Zulma Dempster Weber and sister of Lizzie Gravois, Althea Kliebert and the late Murphy Weber.She is survived by 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.Services were July 17 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.MAURIN

She was the wife of the late Willard Onellion Sr. and mother of Bonnie Dunn, Willard Jr. and John Onellion.She was the daughter of the late John and Effie Lewis Smith and sister of the late Verma Chatellier and Bonnie and Walker Smith.She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Services were July 16 in the chapel of H.C.
