GARYVILLE – Adeline “Bird” Ross Borne, 80, a native of Hillaryville and resident of Garyville, died July 7. She was the wife of the late Isidore “Boo” Borne, mother of Sarah Morris, Roy Baloney and Ernest Green and stepmother of Marie Turner and Michael, Marlo and Myron Borne.She was also the daughter of the late James Oliver Sr. and Sarah Braxton and sister of Josephine LaBranche, Walsh Batiste and the late George Braxton and Freddie and James Oliver Jr.She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Services were July 13 at True Light Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.LUCIA
NEW ORLEANS – Nancy Schambra Lucia, 70, a native of New Orleans and resident of Norco for 45 years, died July 9. She was the wife of Vincent Lucia Jr. and mother of Shari Cardinal and Patty and Christopher Lucia.She was also the daughter of the late Frances and Victor Schambra and sister of Josie Hemenway and Nick Schambra.She is also survived by two grandchildren.Services were July 12 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at All Saints Mausoleum, Metairie Cemetery.McDONALD
SUMMERFIELD – Ken Douglas McDonald, 58, a native of Louisiana and a resident of Baton Rouge, died July 10. He was the husband of Cynthia Hall McDonald and father of Samantha Commons and Alison McDonald.He was also the son of Mignon Crane McDonald and the late Jack McDonald and brother of Kay McBride, Jacqueline McGee, Paula Ridgeway and John McDonald.He is also survived by one grandchild.He was a retired plant manager for LaRoche Industries in Gramercy.Services were July 13 at Summerfield Methodist Church, Summerfield, with interment at the church cemetery. ST. JAMES – Annette Marie “Nett” Rodrigue, 35, a native and resident of St. James, died July 8. She was the daughter of Alvenia Rodrigue and the late Netters Rodrigue Sr., sister of Rowena Governor, Peggy McGalliard, Paula, Ericka, Stanley, Netters Jr., Geffery, Stephen and the late Craig Rodrigue and stepsister of Ray Washington.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.SUMMERS
EDGARD – Carloss D. “Los” Summers, 24, a native of New Orleans and resident of Edgard for one year, died July 9. He was the father of Carloss Tobias.He was also the son of Barbara Summers and the late Arthur James, stepson of Morris James and brother of Catherine Byrd, Lora Wyatt, Trenell Gilmore, Morris Bernard Jr., Shantell Smith and Shannon, Stephanie and Stacy Summers.Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. DES ALLEMANDS – Edmond Joseph Young, 21 a native of Des Allemands and resident of Luling, died July 8. He was the son of Nolan Brown and Iris Young and brother of Tasha, Chastity, Clinton, Brad and Steven Young.Services are July 16 at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, with interment at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.
