BROOMS

NEW ORLEANS – Rachel Kitt Brooms, 94, a native of Convent and resident of New Orleans for 90 years, died Oct. 2. She was the stepmother of Ernest Brooms.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

She attended McDonough 35 High School and was a member of Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, where she served at an usher, Sunday school teacher and chairlady of Homecoming Day.

Services were Oct. 12 at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.

DUTT

NORCO – Vivian Alice Poirrier St.Amant Dutt, 76, a native of Luling and resident of Norco, died Oct. 13. She was the wife of 55 years of Dale Dutt and mother of Tina Tuveson and Denise Dutt.

She was the sister of Dora Deese Rock.

She is also survived by an aunt, Jeanette Hebert, 92, of Boutte, and one grandchild.

Memorial services were Oct. 15 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco.

McWILLIAMS

DES ALLEMANDS – Helen McWilliams, 73, a native of Waynesboro, Miss., and resident of Des Allemands for 32 years, died Oct. 10. She was the wife of Joe McWilliams and mother of Jenean, Rennis and Carlos Douglas and stepmother of Nicole, Scott and Joe McWilliams II.

She was the sister of Loretta Gaspard and Jack Hinton.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Oct. 12 at First Assembly of God Church, Des Allemands.

RICHARD

LUTCHER – Violet G. Richard, 82, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Oct. 10. She was the wife of the late Russell J. Richard and mother of Dawn Kliebert, Jamie Nassar and David Richard.

She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Patrina Guardina and sister of the late Billy Guardina.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a U.S. Army veteran, attended Hotel Dieu Hospital and retired from St. James Parish Hospital.

Services were held Oct. 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.

TOSI

LAPLACE – Domenica “Tina” Tosi, 89, a native of San Mauro Pascoli, Italy, and resident of LaPlace for 23 years, died Oct. 13. She was the mother of Terri Prough and Idalgo Tosi.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

TROXCLAIR

BATON ROUGE – Marie Rosalie Troxclair, 72, a native of St. James and long time resident of Baton Rouge, died Oct. 11. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Virginia Simon Troxclair and sister of Mabel Gaspard, Laurence, Alvin, Ronald, Donald and Laurent Troxclair and the late Alma Siegel and Stephen Troxclair.

She was a retired executive secretary for Dow Chemical Company and a volunteer at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Services were Oct. 13 at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, Baton Rouge.
