The Louisiana State Police said recently that nine of 10 Louisiana parents do not use child-restraint car seats correctly. So, the agency is taking a proactive approach to the problem by hosting a free class on Sept. 21 at the Troop B office on Williams Boulevard in Kenner, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hands-on instruction will be provided by nationally-certified child passenger safety technicians. Call (504) 712-2297 and plan to attend.
