BECO
RESERVE – Elouise Beco, 59, a native and resident of Reserve, died May 31. She was the daughter of Sedonia Beco and the late Jennings Beco and sister of Linda Love.
She was a retired distribution clerk.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
HALL
LULING – Betty Lee Hall, 56, a native and resident of Luling, died June 2. She was the wife of James Hall Sr. and mother of James Hall Jr.
She was the daughter of Evelina Williams Jackson and sister of Mary Washington, Debra Dellafosse and Irving Jr., Andrew and Alvin Jackson.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Bell Baptist Church, Luling, with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
HAWKINS
GARYVILLE – Ruby Lee Smith Hawkins, 73, a native of New Orleans and resident of Garyville, died June 3. She was the mother of Sharon Eugene, Wanda Hollway, Vanessa Robertson, Bryan and Charles Eugene and Dianne, Patricia, Stanley and Reginald Hawkins.
She was the sister of Fran Bayas and Gretchen Washington.
She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at True Light Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.
JOHNSON
LUTCHER – Lawrence “Bout” Johnson Jr., 71, a native and resident of Lutcher, died June 4. He was the father of Judy Bourgeois and Belinda Johnson.
He was the brother of Shirley Cola, Ethel Neyland and Raymond and Arthur Johnson Sr.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was an electrician at Freeport in Convent.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at King Triumph Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.
KELLY
KENNER – Victoria Reed Kelly, 78, a native of Luling and resident of Kenner for 45 years, died May 31. She was the mother of Leon Kelly Sr.
She was the sister of Dora Lee Brooks, Deborah Turner, Martha Slay, Ida Mae Williams, Mary Gray and Roslyn, Darlene, Anthony and James Reed.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a retired domestic worker and a former employee of the St. Charles Parish Public School system.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at Belle Grove Cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
LANDRY
NORCO – Richard D. Landry, 58, a native of Reserve and resident of Norco for 34 years, died June 5. He was the husband of Karen Montz Landry and father of Holly Hinchman and Troy Landry.
He was the son of the late Clifford and Marcelle Landry and brother of Leatrice Luminais, Mary Catoire, Sylvia Simoneaux, Sybil Montegut, Irene Moore and C.F., Ronnie, Bobby, Roy and the late Mickey Landry.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.
ROUSSEL
METAIRIE – Ewart Joseph Roussel, 77, a native of Paulina and resident of Metairie for 36 years, died June 3. He was the husband of Nora Hymel Roussel and father of Derrell and Darren Roussel.
He was the son of the late Wilfred and Lillian Rome Roussel and brother of Winifred Richarme, Corrinne Marcotte, Muriel Granier, Alice Corsetti and Ventress, Melvin, Floriston and the late Lowell Roussel.
He is also survived by five grandchildren.
He was the retired controller of United Brands and owner/president of Roussel and Associates Inc.
Services were June 5 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at All Saints Mausoleum.
ROUSSEL
LAPLACE – Laydon “Lay-O” Roussel, 46, a native and resident of Reserve, died June 4. He was the father of Abbie Roussel.
He was the son of Naomi Roussel and the late Ruby Roussel Sr. and brother of Carla Downhour and Dwight and Ruby Roussel Jr.
Memorial services were June 6 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace.
SONGY
HAHNVILLE – Diana Lirette Songy, 72, a native and resident of Hahnville, died June 6. She was the wife of the late Bert Songy Sr. and mother of Sheilia Hymel, Lisa Robert, Jessie Zeringue, Jessica Deckard and Bert Songy Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Sidney Sr. and Azilda Falgout Lirette and sister of the late Sidney Lirette Jr.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
STEPTORE
CONVENT – Carmelite Steptore, 90, a native and resident of Convent, died May 31. She was the mother of Barbara Green, Carolyn Williams, Margaret Charles, Patricia Cooper, Ramona Johnson and Roland, Lawrence, Andrew, Wilbert and Joseph Steptore Sr.
She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were June 7 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Convent, with interment at the church cemetery.
TROSCLAIR
PAULINA – Elmore “Moe” Trosclair, 73, a native and resident of Lutcher, died June 5. He was the husband of Joyce Babin Trosclair and father of Sandy Roussel, Joy Bourgeois and E.J. “Bubby” and Ronnie Trosclair.
He was the brother of Ruth Malbrough.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, he was retired from Shell Oil Company and he was the owner of Ralph’s Supermarket.
He served as a Lutcher Town Alderman from July 1958 to June 1966 and again from September 1968 to June 1978, then as Lutcher Mayor from July 1978 to December 1986 and again from January 1995 to December 1998.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
WEBRE
EDGARD – Maria Rougee Webre, 86, a native and resident of Vacherie, died June 5. She was the wife of the late David Webre and mother of Sandra Tregre and Janice Dantin.
She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Amelia Ockman Rougee and sister of Ursula Chenier, Clara Guidry and the late Lucien, Camille and Jean Rougee.
She is also survived by two grandchlldren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
