ADAMS
METAIRIE – Leroy Charles Adams, 69, a native of Paradis and resident of Kenner, died June 19. He was the husband of Bridget Vaughn Adams and father of Mary Chatelain and Patrick, Michael, Anthony and John Adams.
He was the brother of Euna Mae Arceneaux, Leola Ferguson, Mildred Fambrough and Ernest Adams.
He is also survived by four grandchildren.
He was a computer programmer.
Services were June 21 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Metairie Cemetery.
AMORE
METAIRIE – Joseph P. Amore, 65, a native of Wallace, past resident of Kenner and resident of Slidell for the past seven years, died June 16. He was the husband of Laverne Forson Amore, father of Brenda Vickery and Paul Amore and stepfather of Larry Patrick, Minnie Cannard and Dawn Millet.
He is the brother of Marie Haik.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
He was a retired operator with the New Orleans Sewage & Water Board.
Services were June 19 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
BRIGNAC
NEW ORLEANS – Ruth Cambre Brignac, 81, a native of Reserve and resident of New Orleans for 60 years, died June 19. She was the wife of the late Raymond Brignac Sr. and mother of Thelma Schwertz, Carol Naquin and Rebecca, Ronald and Raymond Brignac Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Virginia Cambre and sister of Rita Morvant, Josie Snowdy, Aline Duhe, Russell, Lewis and Armand Cambre and the late Marie Roussell and Caliste and Ellis Cambre.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were June 21 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at St. Patrick Cemetery, No. 1, New Orleans.
CAMBRE
HAHNVILLE – Alma Louise Hadley Cambre, 92, a native of New Orleans and resident of Hahnville, died June 15. She was the wife of the late Almonie Cambre Sr. and mother of Alma Bell, Theresa Lewis-McDonald, Lloyd Rosemore Sr. and Almonie Cambre Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Angelina Hadley and sister of the late Juanita Jones, Evelina Markey, Susan Butler and Kitty, Haywood, Oliver, Thomas and Caroline Hadley.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services were June 21 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.
CHAMPAGNE
HAHNVILLE – Agnes “Poochie” Borne Champagne, 63, a native of Lucy and resident of Hahnville, died June 15. She was the former wife of Earl Champagne Sr. and mother of Wendy Fiffie, Tammy Harper, Marlene and Romona Jackson and Keith, Kim, Marlon, Earl Jr., Torrey, Karone, LaRue and Seven Champagne.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vivian Bossier Borne and sister of Norma Perry, Mary Shepherd, Lucille Brice, Deanna Fleming, Lottie Wilson, Madeline Lumar, Adrienne, Rosanna and Joseph Borne Jr. and the late Augustine Bolden.
She is also survived by a host of grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were June 20 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Edgard.
EDWARDS
EDGARD – Mary Marie Edwards, 82, a native and resident of Edgard, died June 14. She was the wife of the late Richard Edwards Sr. and mother of Janice Campbell, Gladys Perry, Lee, Richard Jr. and the late Joseph Edwards.
She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Josephine Borne Mitchell and sister of Oleander Joseph, Christine Pierre and Herman Sr., Willie and the late Simon, Phillip, Mitchell, Emily, Augusta, Ramos and Paul Mitchell.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were June 21 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.
GABB
METAIRIE – Alfred J. Gabb Jr., 82, a native of Vacherie and resident of Jefferson Parish for 27 years, died June 17. He was the husband of the late Theresa Conners Breaux Gabb and stepfather of Mary Ann Hymel.
He was the brother of Zema Roddy, Robert and David Gabb and the late Ama Roppolo and Henry Gabb.
He is also survived by seven stepgrandchildren.
Services were June 20 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at St. Philip Catholic Mausoleum, Vacherie.
GALE
EDGARD – Ethel Mae Mitt Gale, 60, a native of Edgard and resident of Hahnville, died June 14. She was the wife the late Matthew Gale and mother of Elouise, Deborah, Barbara, Dierdra, Darlene, Christina, Matthew Jr., Bobby, Mark and Conrad Mitt.
She was the daughter of Sedonia and the late Robert Mitt Sr. and sister of Rosemary Bradford, Lucy Strickland and Robert Jr., Albert and Joseph Mitt.
She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
JONES
RESERVE – Eddie “Bruzer” Jones, 64, a native and resident of LaPlace, died June 14. He was the husband of Rosemary Johnson Jones and father of Karen Jones-Castle and Keith Jones.
He was the son of the late Felix Jones and Bertha Miller and brother of Ernestine Snyder, Wallace Frank Sr. and the late Louise and Felix Jones Jr.
He was a former switchman for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.
Services were June 20 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Reserve.
LABAT
LAPLACE – Janice Dufresne Labat, 69, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace, died June 20. She was the wife of Leroy Labat and mother of Leslie Foret, Kerry and Layne Labat.
She was the daughter of the late Claude and Edna Dufresne and sister of Glenda Clement and the late Donald Dufresne.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
PRYER
ROSEDALE – Lubritha Narcisse “Babe” Pryer, 90, a native of Vacherie and resident of Rosedale, died June 13. She was the wife of the late Wilson Pryer Sr. and mother of Odelia Lewis, Dorothea Myers, Annie Griszell, Betty Anderson and Lillie, the Rev. Roosevelt Sr., Lester, Samuel and Raymon Pryer.
She is also survived by 58 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren and 45 great-great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Baptist Church, Rosedale, with interment at the church cemetery.
RADECKER
NEW ORLEANS – Josephine “Jo” Noto Radecker, 70, a native of St. James Parish and resident of River Ridge, died June 19. She was the wife of the late Ralph Radecker and mother of Gary and Mark Radecker.
She was the daughter of Jennie and the late Eddie Noto and sister of Bonnie Laker, Sandra Sarrazin and the late Anna Schnauder.
She is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of P.J. McMahon and Son Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
ROBERTSON
NEW ORLEANS – Velena Robertson, 67, a native of New Orleans and resident of Norco for the past 10 years, died June 13. She was the wife of the late Henry Robertson and mother of Melody Williams, Brenda Crawford, Vera Squire and Medora, Gabriel, Wilton and the late Nelson Robertson.
She was the daughter of Oletha Turley Smith and the late Earl Smith.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was an evangelist at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sunlight Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Bethlehem Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
SORAPURU
NEW ORLEANS – Edna Josephine Poche Sorapuru, 85, a native of Paulina and resident of New Orleans for 53 years, died June 17. She was the mother of Gwendolyn Bouler, Rose Mathieu, Charlene Legaux, Huey Sorapuru and Anthony, Dennis Sr., Milton and Herbert Schnyder Sr.
She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at St. Roch Cemetery No. 2. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
ST. PIERRE
PAULINA – Ralph J. “Pete” St. Pierre Sr., 75, a native of Lutcher and resident of St. James Parish, died June 19. He was the husband of Virginia C. St. Pierre and father of Patti Trosclair and Toni Ann and Ralph St. Pierre Jr.
He was the son of the late Olide Sr. and Helena St. Pierre and brother of the late Margaret Rome, Jean Landry and Olide St. Pierre Jr.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was a retired employee of Shell Chemical for 30 years and St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office for 10 years. He was also a member of the Lutcher Volunteer Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus.
Services are today at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
