ALEXANDER

NORCO – Duane Louis Alexander, 37, a native of Luling and resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., died June 9. He was the son of Hubert and Dolores Rabalais Alexander and brother of Darlene Buras, Kris Cornish and Stephanie and Rickie Alexander.

Memorial services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Norco. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

CAMPBELL

METAIRIE – David W. Campbell, 45, a native of Columbus, Ga., and resident of Luling, died June 10. He was the husband of Cathy D. Campbell and stepfather of William and Jeremy Timmons.

He was the son of Charles and the late Eldean Kratzer Campbell and brother of Charles and James Campbell.

He was a chemical engineer/TICA technology associate for Dow Chemical/St. Charles Operations.

Memorial services are today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Visitation starts at noon.

LAICHE

PAULINA – Amedia Schexnayder Laiche, 99, a native of Grand Point and resident of Paulina, died June 17. She was the wife of the late Leopold J. Laiche and mother of Anna Mizell, Ida Jowers, Lorraine Trahan, Patricia Lasseigne, Mary St. Pierre, Owen Laiche and the late Marjorie Giroir.

She was the daughter of the late Louis and Marguerite Louque Schexnayder and sister of Wilton and Warren Schexnayder and the late Ida Vicknair and Anicet, Wilfred, Didier, Alley, Marc and Laurel Schexnayder.

She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

MIZELL

LAPLACE – Percy Mizell, 60, a native and resident of LaPlace, died June 13. He was the brother of Myrtle Nicholson and Fannie, Ronald and Harrison Mizell.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Services were June 18 at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

STEIB

ST. JAMES – Raymond “Rock” Steib, 62, a native of Vacherie and resident of St. James, died June 15. He was the husband of the late Virginia Jackson Steib and father of Kristie and Kellie Sterling and Antoinetta, Fanchonette, Angelo, Antonio and Anquindas Steib.

He was the son of Lucille Dumas Steib and the late Clerville Steib Sr. and brother of Rosa Long, Carolyn Gauthier, Geneva Perez and Audrey, Charles, Joseph, John, Wilbert and the late Clerville Steib Jr.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

He was a retired welder at Avondale Shipyards.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, South Vacherie. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

VICKNAIR

PAULINA – Harry “Rambo” Vicknair Sr., 77, a resident of Lutcher, died June 17. He was the husband of 51 years of Jane Vicknair and father of Mary Keating and Stephanie, Harry Jr., George, Christopher and the late David Vicknair.

He was the son of the late Noe and Elma Ordeneaux Vicknair and brother of Brenda Braud and Geraldine, LeRoy, Jessie, Clerfert, Herman “Dutch,” Gerald, Milton, Wayne, Noe “Tim” and the late Norris “Charlie,” Wilton, Roland, Noella, Harold, Lester, Larry and Brother Hubert Vicknair, S.M.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

He was a Corporal Rifle Marksman in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, he was retired from Colonial Sugars and a he was a member of VFW Post 5852 and Knights of Columbus Council 1817.

Services are June 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with private interment. Visitation is tonight from 6-10 p.m. and tomorrow from 8-9:30 a.m.

WHITE

HAHNVILLE – Waldor Lee White, 70, a native and resident of Killona, died June 13. She was the wife of Rayfield White Sr. and mother of Loretta Edwards, Sylvia Woods, Learnetta Toney, Vanderlyn and Lisa Hill, Rosita Boudreaux, Gianni Williams, Waldor Lockett, Yvette Steib and Rayfield Jr., Eldon, Jason and Mervin White.

She was the daughter of the late Richard and Flora Guss Smith and sister of Jacqueline Brown and Oramel Sr. and the late Albertine and Roland Smith Sr.

She is also survived by 41 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
