EUGENE

NORCO – Mabel Smith Eugene, 82, a native of Norco and resident of Destrehan for three months, died Jan. 28. She was the wife of the late Theodore D. Eugene and mother of Margie Richard and the late Naomi Sterling and Richard Eugene.

She was the daughter of the late Louisa Saire Jenkins and Charlie Smith and sister of the late Angele, Inez, Vervea, Luticha, Osway, Dewey Leonard, James Sr. and Sidney Smith.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 1 at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.

GREEN

ST. JAMES – Focus Cleveland Green, 53, a native of Welcome and resident of Convent, died Jan. 25. He was the husband of Charles Ann Harris Green and father of Savitria Brown, Ireker and Nikiesha Green, Mary Wesley, Bryant Green and Jonathan Jackson.

He was the son of the late Clarence Sr. and Pearl Harris Green and brother of Merlin Armstrong and Delores, Donnie, Clarence, Howard, Edward, Cloyd, Lloyd, Michael and Ricky Green.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

REMONDET

NORCO – Harry Raymond Remondet, 72, a native of Reserve and resident of Norco, died Jan. 29. He was the husband of 52 years of Carolyn Weber Remondet and father of Vickie Vicknair, Cindy Haydel, Harry Remondet Jr., and the late Beth Cambre.

He was the son of the late Harvey and Victorine Oubre Remondet and brother of Doris Rodrigue, Shirley Duhe and Joseph Remondet. He was preceded in death by four brothers.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 31 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Destrehan, with interment at the chuch mausoleum.

SPRIVEY

RIVER RIDGE – Marie Antoinette Sprivey, 53, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for three years, died Jan. 26.

She was the mother of Wanda, Desiree and Walter Sprivey.

She was the sister of Jerry, Terry and Gary Green.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

Services are today at 9 a.m. in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, River Ridge, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.

Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

TURNER

GRAMERCY – Dr. Ward Turner, 77, a native of Gadsden, Ala., and resident of Gramercy, died Jan. 30.

He was the husband of 53 years of Renette Wolf Turner and father of Cheryl Mary, Paula Ellis and Glenn and Dr. Joseph Turner.

He was the son of the late Julius and Margaret Maddox Turner and brother of the late Inez Massey and Rader and Tom Turner.

He is survived by eight grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

He was a 1949 graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine, served two years in the U.S. Air Force and was a general practitioner physician in Lutcher for 50 years.

Services are today at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
