Entrepreneurship Workshop – Starting a Business

EDGARD – The LSU AgCenter, through its St. John Parish Extension Office, the River Region Chamber of Commerce, and First American Bank of LaPlace, is offering an Entrepreneurship Workshop for people thinking of starting a business, or for those who have just started a business. The workshop is entitled: “starting a Business is it for You?”
The 10-hour, 4-part workshop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on four successive Monday evenings this spring: April 19, April 26, May 6, and May 10, 2004, at the LSU AgCenter (Extension Office, 151 E. Third St., Edgard, LA. The workshop is limited to 15 participants on a first-come, first- serve basis, and a minimum of 5 pre-paid registrations are needed for the workshop to be held.
The workshop topics include: Deciding to start a business; organizing your time, Types of businesses, evaluating business ideas, internet-based, global, & franchise businesses, the basics of financial management, writing a business plan, finding financial resources, and finding educational resources for entrepreneurs.
The registration fee for the workshop is $35 per person, payable in advance. Some workshop materials and some refreshments will be provided. The deadline for registration and payment of the fee is, Thursday, April 15th, by 12 Noon. Make checks payable to: “LSU AgCenter”.
