DESTREHAN – Through six innings, Hahnville starting pitcher Brittany Simoneaux did not allow a run. She did, however, allow a run in the seventh inning. The one run she allowed was irrelevant as the Lady Tigers easily knocked off rival Destrehan, 11-1.

Simoneaux fired a one-run, two-hit performance in the victory.

Destrehan starter Rachel Kelly threw four innings, while taking the loss.

The Lady Tigers quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead through the first two innings.

In the top of the first, Karla Troxler walked, stole second and scored on a fielders choice from Simoneaux.

Kelly managed to get out of a bases loaded jam by getting Kady Morantine to ground out.

Hahnville put three more runs on the board in the top of the second. With one out, Lanie Roussel walked and stole second. She then scored on a double to center from third baseman Donna Weber, making the score 2-0. Weber scored when Jennie Chiasson ripped a triple to right.

A ground out by Troxler would score Chiasson from third.

Two more runs in the top of the fourth gave Hahnville a 6-0 lead. Three consecutive singles loaded the bases for the Lady Tigers. With two outs, Annie Minnich got a base hit to score Weber and Chiasson.

Kelly was removed in the fourth and replaced by Julie Beaugh, who retired three consecutive Hahnville hitters in the fifth.

Hahnville got its seventh run of the game in the top of the sixth. Chiasson scored her third run of the game on a wild pitch thrown by Beugh.

The top of the seventh saw Hahnville get four more runs. A lead off walk to Simoneaux and a single by Lynzie Brown put runners on first and second with no outs. Three wild pitches in the inning were responsible for two Hahnville runs. The first wild pitch scored Simoneaux from third base. A sacrifice fly by Morantine plated Brown from third. The inning’s third wild pitch scored Roussel from third. The last run of the inning came from a Destrehan throwing error by third baseman Jillian Keegan. The error plated home Webber from second.

The shut out quickly to came to an end in the top of the seventh. Courtney Bertholot hit the second pitch she saw to right field for double. A fielders choice from Brittany Stevens moved her over to third base. An error by Kari Wilson scored Stevens from second.
