St. John

EDWARDS

HAHNVILLE – Raymond Joseph Edwards, 65, a native of Edgard and resident of Hahnville, died March 13. He was the husband of Earline Louis Edwards and father of the late Tyrone Edwards. He was also the guardian of Karbrin Stevenson and Nancy Gauthier.

He was also the son of the late Earnest Sr. and Adrienne Edwards, and brother of Anges Johnson, Josepha Gautier, Dorothy Bold, Florence Borne, Henry, Earnest, and the late Francis, Mitchell and Richard Edwards Sr.

Services were March 23 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Edgard.

FINLEY

METAIRIE – Mary Catherine Zeller Finley, 68, a native of Rapid City, S.D., and resident of Norco, died March 20. She was the mother of Charles “Chuck” Finley, and the late Rollin Finley.

She was also the daughter of the late Edward and Eva Clark Zeller, and sister of Edward, John, Jim, Donald and Sister Margaret Zeller.

She is also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are today at 10 a.m. In the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

LEE

LUTCHER – Leola Fluence Lee, 65, a native and resident of Lutcher, died March 14. She was the wife of James Lee Sr. and mother of Carolyn Joseph, Doris Fluence, Mary Marcell, Judy Dumas, Gloria Bolding, Angela Strong, Calvin and Denorris, Jamie Johnson, Fluence, Akeyia and James Lee III.

She was also the sister of Ora Lee Tyler, Ellen Green, Eunice Anthony, Leroy Davis, Thomas, John, Nathan, Gary, James and Larry Fluence,

She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was a retired employee of the St. James Parish School Board and also had worked for Neese Industrial.

Services were March 20 at Kind David Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent.

LEDET

MARRERO – Joshua Michael Ledet, 17, a native of Marrero and resident of Luling for eight years, died March 20. He was the son of Carl and Vicky Ann Jones Ledet and borther of Carl Wilson and Laine Ledet.

He was also the grandchild of Elvis “Buddy” and Barbara Jones and Virgie Prukop and great-grandchild of Mary Spera.

Services are today at 9 a.m. In the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park.

LUQUETTE

PAULINA – Larry Joseph Luquette Sr., 85, a native of Vacherie and resident of Lutcher, died March 20. He was the husband of Rosemary Simon Luquette and father of Rosemary Bolotte, Marilyn Ourso, Wanda Millet, Barbara Simpson, David and Nelda Luquette, and the late Larry Luquette Jr.

He was also and son of the late Sylvere and Odile Haydel Luquette, and brother of Ethelyn Chenier, S.J. Luquette, and the late Angelle Perret and Clifford Luquette.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was a retired rice farmer, forman at Kaiser Aluminum and Norco Gas Company, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of American Legion Post 171.

Services were March 22 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.

MADERE

LAPLACE – June Cashio Madere, 62, a native of Lions and resident of Reserve, died March 19. She was the wife of Burton Madere and mother of Mark, Matt and Michelle Madere.

She was also the daughter of Lillie Cashio, and the late Andrew “BeBe” Cashio, and sister of Kathleen Weber, Lillie Mae Millet, Burt, Richard, Bruce, David, Harold, Curtis and Michael Cashio.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were March 20 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

TASSIN

LAPLACE – Albert Percy “PT” Tasssin, 79, a native and resident of LaPlace,died March 21. He was the husband of the late Mildred Cambre Tassin, and father of Shirleen Biscoe, Deana Holmes, Janet Frederick, Marsha LeBranche and Darlene Dean.

He was also the son of the late Norbert Sr. and Angela Jacob Tassin, and brother of the late Norbert Jr. and Alvin Tassin, Adelina Duhe and Hilda Brock.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at noon in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeal Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John M emorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
