2003 goes back to school

Here are some highlights from the 2003 year for each school.

Do you remember when?….

East St. John

The Lady Cats fought hard but ended up losing a close, semifinal game against Southwood in the LHSAA Sweet 16. Do you remember when Derron Thomas rushed for 300 yards in one half against Hahnville? Do you remember when the Wildcats played against South Lafourche in baseball and the temperature was about 35 degrees?

Of course you do.

Do you remember when the Rams defeated Buras to win the 9-2A district championship in boys basketball? Do you remember when the Rams played two exciting games against Reserve Christian? Do you remember when WSJ destroyed St. James in the opening week of the prep football season?

Do you remember when Crystal Rome scored her 3,000 point against Fisher?

Do you remember when the Lady Rebels softball team made it to Sulphur only to bow out against Vidalia in the quarterfinals? Do you remember when Lady Rebel starting pitcher Megan Warner fired a no-hitter? Do you remember the baseball team getting beat by Vidalia as well in the playoffs?

Do you remember when Tropical Storm Bill spawned a tornado through Reserve?

Of course you do.

Do you remember Michael Bonura signing a scholarship with LSU? Do you remember Chris Cancienne signing with Northwestern State? Do you remember the Lady Comets softball team going to Sulphur as well?

Do you remember Tyrell Fenroy flying down the field during Comet football games?

Do you remember the Eagles destroying Destrehan in the River Parish shootout? Do you remember the unbeilievable turnaround against Midland with a trip to Lafayette on the line? Do you remember Tweety Carter getting injured before halftime and giving an amazing performance in the second half to defeat Midland? Do you remember the Eagles defeating Doyline to win the Class B State Championship?
