Lady Tigers knock off Lady Trojans
The Hahnville Lady Tigers got back on the winning track Friday night with a 40-28 victory over Central Lafourche in Lockport. Whitney Scott finished the game with 11 points and Marquita Hill added eight points. In a defensive battle, Hahnville led 12-11 at halftime. However, the Lady Tigers broke it open in the third quarter by outscoring the Lady Trojans 13-3.

Lady Wildcats pick up win
The Destrehan Lady Cats improved to 4-3 in district play with a 57-46 victory over South Lafourche last Friday night in Galliano. Amber Eugene led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points, while Brittany Clark chipped in with 12 in the victory. Ashley Sentimore contributed with 11 in the victory. Destrehan held a 25-17 lead at halftime. South Lafourche dropped to 3-4 in district play.

LSU game to air January 17
On January 17, WGNO-TV will re-broadcast the LSU-Oklahoma game beginning at 10pm. During the final quarter of the game, nearly 75 percent of all homes in New Orleans watched the game. LSU’s victory over Oklahoma was the most watched event in the history of the station. Ratings do not include the number of people watching it at bars and restaurants.

Rebels fall in tournament
In the finals of the Ouachita Tournament, Riverside Acad-emy fell to Sterlington, 56-36. Josh Labiche led the Rebels with 16 points in the defeat. The Rebels played Sterlington close in the first half, but ran into difficulty in the second half. The Rebels were outscored 17-10 in the third quarter and were outscored 20-6 in the final eight minutes.

Comets
dominate
The St. Charles Catholic Comets dominated the Brusly Panthers Friday night in non-district play. Michael Bowen led the way for the Comets with 26 points in the victory. Kyle Olasin contributed with 11 points in the victory for SCC, who improved to 8-12 with the victory. The Comets led at the end of each quarter, except for the third.

St. James earns seventh victory
The St. James Lady Wildcats picked up their seventh victory of the season with a 45-40 non-district victory over Port Sulphur on Friday night. Jaranell Jones finished with 10 points for the Lady Wildcats, while Terricka Verret finished with 21 points in the victory. St. James’ defense played well in the first half, allowing only nine points at halftime.

Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only and is for boys and girls ages 10-19. Players from 50 states and 11 foreign countries attended the 2003 camp. College basketball scholarships are possible for players selected to the All-American Team. Lady Rebels fall to Redeemer-Seton
A difficult season for the Riverside Academy Lady Rebels continued this past Friday night against Red-eemer-Seton. The Lady Rebels dropped its second district 10-2A game of the season with a 36-30 loss against the Lady Rams in New Orleans. After trailing 16-11 at halftime, Riverside was outscored 15-6 in the third quarter. RA returns to action Friday night against Buras.

West St. John falls
Despite having three scorers in double figures, the West St. John Rams fell to 7-6 on the season with a 62-59 loss against Ascension Catholic last Friday night in non-district action. Juan Joseph led the Rams with 12 points, Dane Stipe contributed with 11 and Neil Songy also added 11 points in the loss.
Starters Josh Lumar and Quinn Johnson were held to five and two points respectivly.

Two LA qb’s
in big games
Two Louisiana quarterbacks, Peyton Manning and Jake Delhomme, will lead their respective teams into conference championships this Sunday. Manning and the Colts will travel to play the New England Patriots, while Delhomme and the Panthers will play the Eagles

Lady cats go 26-0 with win over rival Destrehan
The East St. John Lady Cats ran their record to 26-0 with a 51-28 victory over rival Destrehan in Destrehan. Nikita Robertson finished with 22 points to lead the Lady Cats, while Whitney Chatman had 12 and Kojo Kamilton contributed with 11 points. Amber Eugene led the Lady Wildcats with seven points. East St. John led Destrehan at the half, 23-17.

Lady Bulldogs fall to 2-18 record
The Lutcher Lady Bulldogs dropped to 2-18 on the season with an 80-26 defeat against Assumption on Monday night. Assumption jumped out to a quick 24-2 lead against LHS during the first quarter. Nikita Thomas outscored the entire Lutcher team by scoring 30 points in the victory.
Assumption held a massive 50-10 lead at halftime.
Minerva Martin led Lutcher with eight points.
