GRAMERCY – A Gramercy woman died in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday on North Airline Drive.

Gramercy Police Chief David Dufresne reported that Stacy Brady Boe, 41, of Gramercy, was spotted at 12:45 a.m. by a Gramercy officer speeding in a 1999 Ford Taurus on Louisiana Highway 3125.

The officer set off in pursuit, and he observed her making a right-hand turn on to North Airline Drive, still at a high rate of speed.

“She had plenty of opportunities to pull over,” Dufresne said.

The officer continued in pursuit but as she attempted to negotiate a curve near Airline Highway, she apparently overshot the curve and ran the truck into a ditch.

Dufresne said he has no idea why Boe did not pull over, but he added she might not have realized she was being pursued. The chief said he is awaiting toxicology results. There were no passengers and no other vehicles were involved in the accident, Dufresne said.
