RESERVE — The Riverside Lady Rebels dropped a pair of basketball games this past week as they continued to battle their way out of the gates in the new season.
Riverside lost to Ascension Catholic, 41-30, then was dropped by a powerful Episcopal team, 49-14.
“Episcopal was the best team we have played all year,” coach Jody Leblanc said. “Overall I’m still happy with our progress, but we’re still making young mistakes, especially against pressure.”
Riverside led at the half against Ascension Catholic, 20-14, but lost out as they were outscored 27-10 in the second half.
Jena Elfer and Amber Shepard had 10 points each to lead the way, with Erica Oubre chipping in with seven.
Against Episcopal, Kayla Perret and Shepard both scored five to lead the way.
Riverside was 1-5 on the year, heading into a late-week tournament.’
