Thanks to an up-tempo, full-court pressure defense that wears teams down in the fourth quarter, Riverside picked up a pair of wins this past week.

Heading into their game tonight against Crescent City, Tommy Monier’s squad is 6-2 on the young season.

“I’m excited with the way we have been playing,” Monier said. “We seem to be getting better with each game. I told our team that we have to get ready for a 10-game season that is district play. This will help us do that. This tough early season games will make us a better team for when it really counts.”

Riverside 74 St. John of Plaquemine 57: With both teams struggling to get off to a solid start, the Rebel press took it’s toll on the Eagles late and help pace Riverside to the victory. Josh Labiche led the Rebels with 28 points.

Riverside 76 East Iberville 56: Behind 35 points from Labiche, the Rebels dominated East Iberville. Behind a relentless full-court pressure defense the Rebels forced several key turnovers in route to the victory.
