BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Lady Tigers basketball team was selected No. 1 by Sports Illustrated and Seimone Augustus is featured in the magazine’s annual College Basketball Preview edition that hit the newsstand this week.

SI annually selects a preseason top 10 for women. This year LSU topped the poll, above Tennessee, Texas, UConn, Georgia, Duke, Baylor, Ohio State, Minnesota and Notre Dame.

The Augustus feature is a four-page story written by SI’s Kelli Anderson, including a full page photo of the junior from Baton Rouge.

Augustus, a preseason All-American is a leading candidate for the nation’s top awards and to repeat as a Kodak All-American.

The Lady Tigers, already 3-0 this season after wins over Maine, Arizona State and No. 8 Baylor, are scheduled to play three more of SI’s top 10 teams.
