St. James faces Catholic-New Iberia

Playoff contest to be held at Wildcats field
ST. JAMES — Despite losing their season finale, the St. James Wildcats enter the 2004 postseason with quite a bit of momentum.
The Class 3 A Wildcats were shut out in their final game, but that game was against the No. 2-ranked Class 5A school in the state, Hahnville.
The Wildcats battled Hahnville tough throughout and finished with 170 yards rushing against the stellar Tigers defense. St. James also moved the ball inside the 20-yard line on four different occasions in the defeat.
The Wildcats enter the postseason with a 6-3 overall record and it garnered the No. 12 ranking in Class 3A. St. James finished in second place in District 10-3A with a 3-1 mark, trailing only St. Charles Catholic, which went 4-0.
The Panthers of Catholic-New Iberia, come into the playoffs as the No. 21-ranked squad.
Kickoff from Friday’s playoff battle is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the St. James field.
