Rams roll to 50-6 triumph over Rayville

EDGARD – West St. John took it to Rayville Friday night, rolling up a 50-6 quarterfinal victory, and take aim at Northeast (near Baton Rouge) next week.
Initius howard scored first in the first quarter, this on a 48-yard run. The two-point conversion attempt failed, leaving the Rams up 6-0.
Patrick Jackson scored next on a one-yard run, matched by a two-point conversion run by Josh Johnson for a 14-0 lead over the visitors.
In the second period, scoring for the Rams came first with a two-yard run by Jackson. The conversion was a Juan Joseph to Piarus Jenkins pass connection for a 22-0 lead
Jackson scored again, this on a 19-yard run, matched by Joseph’s two point conversion for a 30-0 lead, going into halftime.
Rayville finally got on the board in the third quarter with Albert Woods connecting with Chris Polliver on a 51-yard pass play for the touchdown. The two-point conversion try failed, leaving Rayville to trail 30-6.
The Rams knocked back, with Jackson scoring on a 52-yard run for the first West St. John TD of the second half. Joseph then passed to Johnson for the conversion and the Rams were up 38-6.
Lastly, in the fourth quarter, Jackson scored again, this on a two-yard run. A two-point conversion try failed, leaving the Rams with a 44-6 lead.
Finally, Denarold Anderson scooped up a loose ball and rambled 50 yards on the fumble recovery for the last touchdown of the game. A two-point conversion run failed to make it to the end zone, but West St. John Rams fans left happy with a 50-6 victory.
