St. Martin’s versus Riverside Academy

It is safe to say the memories of last year’s disappointing season for Riverside Academy have been erased.

The Rebels are sporting a 5-1 overall record along with a 2-0 district record. Riverside enters Friday night’s game coming off a 42-0 romp of Buras at Fort Jackson.

Rebels running back Jarid Caesar led the Rebels ground game with 14 carries and three touchdowns in the lopsided win.

St. Martin’s, on other hand, could only manage 117 yards of total offense, 49 of which was on the ground against West St. John.

Riverside snapped a six game losing streak last year with a 33-6 win over the Saints in Metairie.

Lutcher versus Thibodaux

The Lutcher Bulldogs will try to make it five in a row when they travel to play Thibodaux in a non-district game Friday night.

The Bulldogs are coming off a hard-fought 23-14 10-3A victory over E.D White last Friday night, while the Thibodaux Tigers, likewise, earned a difficult 14-10 victory over Terrebonne last week. The victory by the Tigers guaranteed their first winning season since 1992.

Thibodaux (6-1, 5-1 district) starting quarterback Zach Chauvin connected with Douglas Turner for what turned out to be the game winning score with about nine minutes remaining.

The Bulldogs won a thrilling 35-28 victory over Thibodaux last season in Lutcher.

Hahnville versus Terrebonne

The Hahnville Tigers quest for a second consecutive 5A state championship continues Friday night when they go to Houma to play Terrebonne at Tom B. Smith Stadium. Hahnville is coming off an easy 56-7 victory over Central Lafourche, while Terrebonne is coming off a 14-10 loss to Thibodaux.

Terrebonne (4-3, 2-3) gained 154 yards on the ground against Thibodaux, with Jerome Anderson carrying 20 times for 67-yards.

Hahnville running back Terrence Isaac had 11 carries for 104 yards and five touchdowns in the victory for Hahnville, while quarterback Bryant Lee was 7 of 13 in passing for 87-yards in the victory.

Destrehan versus Central Lafourche

After a succesful performance against South Lafourche, the Destrehan Fighting Wildcats will take on Central Lafourche in Mathews Friday night.

The Wildcats scored a lopsided 46-21 victory over the Tarpons in which Jai Eugene completed 11 of 18 passes for 216-yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Chris Bullock ran the ball 16 times for 132 yards.

The Trojans lone touchdown in a 56-7 loss to Hahnville was a 36-yard touchdown strike from Central Lafourche quarterback Neal Foret completed a 36-yard touchdown strike to Lyndell Shelby with about 11:12 left to play.

Hahnville defensive backs intercepted five Central Lafourche passes.

St. James versus E.D White

The St. James Wildcats are coming off a victory, while the Cardinals are coming off a defeat. E.D White has defeated the Wildcats the last two seasons.

In addition, the Wildcats first home loss in two seasons came in 2002 against E.D White.

St. James has been platooning quarterbacks Nick Narcisse and Antonio Phillips for most of the season. Running back Tremaine Dapremont accounted for 153 yards on 15 carries. The Wildcats finished with 326 yards on the ground.
