West St. John pounds Buras with 58-0 tally

Patrick Jackson picks up 156 yards, 5 touchdowns

EDGARD – Patrick Jackson was the story from the West St. John game, as he picked up five touchdowns and accounted for 156 yards and a two-point conversion – a total of 32 points in a 58-0 victory Friday over Buras.

In the first quarter, Jackson scored on a 1-yard run, matched by a two-point conversion by Initius Howard for the 8-0 lead.

Howard then scored on a 1-yard run, with Josh Johnson turning in the two-point converstion for a 16-0 lead.

Then it was Jackson again for another touchdown, plus a two-PAT run for the first quarter’s 24-0 lead.

In the second quarter, it was Jackson on a 13-yard run wit Johnson accepting a 2-PAT pass from Oljowon Hall for a 32-0 lead.

Jaron Howard next stepped up and turned in a 32-yard scoring run. The two-point conversion try failed against the Buras defense, and the Rams headed into the halftime break with a comfortable 38-0 leading margin.

Back in action in the third quarter, Jackson turned in his fourth scoring touchdown, this being a 31-yard run.

The two-point conversion try failed, though, leaving West St. John on a 46-0 lead.

Jackson then bashed in on a 29-yard run, his fifth for the evening to cap off his scoring for the night. Deron Bartholonew scored the two-point conversion for a 52-0 leading margin over the visiting Buras team.

Finally Reynaud Thomas scored the final touchdown for the Rams with a pass reception from Hall late in the third quarter.

Again, a two-point conversion try failed, but West St. John were satisfied with their 58-0 victory.

As an aside to a hard-fought game, the West St. John Rams held the visiting Buras squad to 10 yards total offense
