RESERVE-Many will say that Reserve Christian has finally caught up to the rest of the world of high school athletics.

The reason: the Eagles recently formed their first booster club to help support their distinguished and ever-growing athletic department.

Highlighted by their nationally known boy’s basketball team, the Eagles also have one of the best girl’s squads in the state.

With the likes of superstar Demond “Tweetie” Carter and Kevin Branch returning in the 2005-06 season, many are predicating a possible run at a mythical National Championship in Reserve.

Taking part in some of the most prestigious tournaments there is, the Eagles will be going up against some of the top high school basketball teams throughout the country.

Athletic Director and boy’s basketball Head Coach Tim Byrd said having an athletic booster club is a vital part to the continued success of the entire Reserve Christian athletic department.

“This booster club will provide the much-need financial and attendance support of all the athletic activities at RCS,” Byrd said.

Byrd moderated the charter meeting of the club. A high number of turnouts resulted in the nominations and elections of officers for the club’s inaugural campaign.

Harold Keller was elected President, Jeanne Keller, Secretary and Lawrence “Logga” Loque was elected treasurer.
