It was the kind of game that you don’t want to look back to at the end of the season, but you know you will.

With a chance to steal an important district game on the road, the St. Charles Catholic boys fell just short on Tuesday night when they were defeated by Donaldsville 60-57.

Michael Troglen had an unbelievable game for SCC with 30 points and Andrew Coleman had 11.

The loss drops the Comets to 11-14 on the season, but more importantly another district loss for SCC.

St. Charles Catholic head coach Jeff Montz said his team must quickly get over the lost to Donaldsville.

“In basketball you don’t really have any time to sulk because you have got to get back to work because you have another game very soon,” Montz said. “District play is eight games and this was just one of eight.

“Sure we are disappointed that we lost a tough game on the road. Now we just have to prepare for our next game. If we win, we are right back in the mix.”

Montz said his team has the chance to bounce back.”

“You have got to have a short memory in basketball and just have to prepare for the next one,” Montz said. “If we just take care of the rest of our business, we will be back where we want to be.”

Montz said Troglen continues to have an outstanding season.”

“Michael had a really really good game,” Montz said. “He was going up against a guy from Donaldsville who was a very strong post player and he just did a wonderful job for us.”
