It’s great to have a moral victory, but when the victory part becomes plural, the fun disappears.

Taking on their second consecutive Catholic League opponent, Reserve Christian fell to Rummel on Tuesday 79-64.

Demond “Tweedy” Carter led Eagles with 38 points and Kevin Branch bounced back from being shutout against Brother Martin with 12 points.

“We just didn’t play with any intensity, particularly in the final quarter,” RCS head coach Tim Byrd said. “We didn’t attack the basket. They (Rummel) just got all the loose balls in the fourth quarter, out-rebounded us and just wanted more than we did.”

Playing one of the toughest schedules in America, Byrd said it may be starting to take its toll on his team.

“It probably is, but in the long run it is probably going to help them,” Byrd said. “We just need to get some toughness back in our team and have got to get back to practicing really hard and understanding the importance of the little things.”
