Area residents have protested plan

LAPLACE — The St. John Parish Council will hold its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and will discuss the rezoning of 4.8 acres of land on Woodland Drive for a condominium development, which is highly opposed by area residents, the renewal of the local library millages and Sean Roussel will address issues concerning the Peavine community.

“We are going to address a resolution to the road and lighting problems in the Peavine area that have been promised to be completed for some time now,” said Councilman Sean Roussel. “The council will be asking administration to meet with railroad companies in order to provide safer crossing in the area, as well as mail service and garbage pickup.”

The council will also continue discussion on a solution for the continuing sewer problems in St. John Parish, with possibilities of new sites negotiations.
