LAPLACE-St. John Parish is investigating whether a man booked for obscenity charges is also connected to other reported obscenity complaint in the River Region.

Nicholas Taylor, 46, of New Orleans was booked into St. John Correctional Facility on Sunday after an incident in which he allegedly exposed himself to a 64-year-old woman in a LaPlace Grocery Store.

&#8220Taylor was arrested after allegedly following the woman in the aisles at the Super Foods Grocery,” said Dane Clement a spokesperson for St. John Sheriff.

The woman said in her statement to police,” I was shopping when Taylor came into the store and began following me. When I turned around he unzipped a pair of camouflage overalls, pulled them open and exposed himself before rezipping them and leaving the building.”

The woman then called the police who were dispatched to the store. When they arrived, deputies found Taylor asleep on the seat of his truck.

Clement said when deputies questioned him they could smell alcohol on him and after questioning him he was charged with disturbing the peace by public intoxication and obscenity.

Taylor was released on $2500 bond on Wednesday.
