LAPLACE — A trailer park resident in LaPlace was arrested Thursday by U.S. Marshals and the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office on an October 2003 Illinois warrant for child pornography.
William Meunier, 43, was located in a trailer park in the 100 block of Ideal Court in LaPlace, and he was arrested without incident. A sawed-off shotgun was also seized during the arrest, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Brian Fair.
The warrant on Meunier states that on Sept. 7, 2002, Meunier was allegedly in possession of child pornography on a computer, which showed adult males having sexual intercourse with children.
A warrant was issued in October 2003 from Madison County, Illinois.
The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force had been contacted by the East Alton, Ill. Police Department for assistance with this case. The task force’s investigation determined that Meunier might be in the LaPlace area.
U.S. Marshals Eastern District Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force and
deputies from the St. John Sheriff’s Office, took Meunier into custody. U.S. Marshal Theophile Duroncelet said, “CSFTF is committed to the continuing mission of making the New Orleans metro area safer from violent fugitives. This arrest is just another example of what CSFTF has done since it began in 1999.”
