HAHNVILLE — East St. John just can’t stop the skid since beating St. Charles in the opener for the American Legion West district league play, falling to Shaw and Hahnville over the weekend.
“We need some guys to step up with pitching,” said ESJ Coach Ryan Sims. “We need to get our guys on the mound to develop a little bit. It’s not so much our batting, but we could use a little work on consistency there. We need to get better defensively though. We just havn’t been good enough.”
With Darryl Williams starting on Monday against Hahnville, the Wildcats fell behind and brought in Stephen Haniford in relief. And even though Haniford held it down, ESJ dropped the game 8-5.
This week, the Wildcats are set to see Rummel on Wednesday at home and travel to St. Bernard this weekend for a 2 p.m. game.
