HAHNVILLE — A Hahnville woman died early Wednesday morning in a two-car accident on LA 3127 in St. Charles Parish.

Lavell Davis, 29, had been traveling southbound in a 2003 Toyota Corolla on LA 3141 at 3:51 a.m. The Corolla passed through the stop sign and was struck by a 2006 Toyota Camry, which was traveling westbound on 3127.

The Camry was driven by Roland Timbre, 70, of Thibodaux. Davis received fatal injuries at the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Timbre sustained moderate injuries and was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital in Luling for treatment.

Both drivers were found by Louisiana State Police to have been wearing seat belts at the time. An investigation by Trooper Greg Marchand is under way to determine if driver impairment was also a factor in the accident, pending toxicology results.
